How is it that he sucked and was over matched while playing for OM and then he goes back to Bayren Munich and starts and is playing in important mactches. If he really is slow and a liability why is he starting today vs Shalke in their most important match of the season

    Re: Lizarazu

Hey thanks I corrected it. So do you have an answer to my question ? I just thought it was strange that he couldnt cut it at Marseille and here he is starting for Bayren in their biggest match of the season. I guess the pace and speed of the Bundesliga is a lot slower than Ligue 1.

    Re: Lizarazu

Probably couldn't settle in Marseille and the formation they use. I think they played him at left wing back at occasions.

    ouch. :(

He goes back to Bayern and slots in so well, because he already knows all the players and the basic setup. Okay Magath came in and slightly tweaked it, but I think its down to how well he settled in Munich and how he didn't in Marseille.

Pace slower than the Bundelsiga? mmmmm. Marginal.

i think he fought he came in marseille for a pre-retirement. But on the contrary, the public, the press waere expecting a lot from him. Some rumors said also he couldn't settle in the city, he prefers the rainy landscapes of munchen, and it's his right^^

I'll listen to how he pronounced his name on a dvd later to confirm, but I believe it is a "sh" sound.

He started both games vs. Arsenal and did well, wouldn’t call them a slow team.

He did start under the previous coach in Marseille , but Trousier didn’t see him in his plans.

LB was also Bayern’s weakest position in the firs half of the season.

:D Lizerazu looked horrible for marseille, and I mean horrible. The logical conclusion is that the Bundesliga is clearly six steps down from league 1. :)
Just look at all the other rejects that florish there, Micoud, Sagnol, Ismael.

I'm interested to see how he'll fare against Robben/Duff/Cole. This will be the real test to see if he's still up to the quality necessary to succeed with the national team.

Yep. I am pretty sure that Lahm who was lend to VFB Stuttgart will be LB next season.

Great player, great international. World and European champion. But now his career is ending and it is kind of sad. Hopefully this is his last year. Then he just has to wait for the coaching vacancy at Bilbao.

He is not liked at Bilbao. There was an anger over they way he left, though I root for him b/c he is/was a great player.

I think his choice of squad number at Bayern Munich is right on ! :D

    Did you know:
    - He's a surfer
    - he's good buddy with Guy Forget the Davis cup captain

Totally random and useless stuff I got from watching 15 mns of that horrible Drucker show on TV5 some time ago.
