Thurday and Liverbird hasn't put up the team list.
GH will be getting antsy wondering who is going to play.
Not my job to sort out the team (Just to steal it for later)

    The penultimate match.
We have to have all the points to go into the last match with some sort of chance.
I liked the Kewel/Owen front pair last time out, young Harry got a couple of good shots off early one that Schwatzer saved. Another goalie and he might have Scored.
We do seem to bring out the best in opposing goalie's, don't we?

Birmingham are lying mid-table, nothing to lose nothing to win.
    W8 D5 L5 F26 A21 at home.
They'll be pretty relaxed willing to go out move the ball around and attack.
Whereas, we have to score and win.

    Going to be interesting.

Meanwhile the 'toon are away in Southern France. Let's see how they handle this away match..!
    This is their prem record. W2 D10 L5 F15 A22

Been on the road and in stupid endless meetings. I know GH is in a panic so:

    Lineup:

    --------Dudek
Finnan ---H ---Carra----JAR (Henchoz probably not available)
    Murphy ---DiDi---SG---- Harry
    ------Owen---Heskey

    Luzi
    Biscan or D-jimmy
    Le Tellec
    Baros
    Cheyrou

Now you all can second guess away!!!

And none to soon I might add.
Harry was planning a weekend off, now you've messed up his plans.

I want to see him up front again with Michael.

Harry and Michael did seem to be an exciting combo against the boro game, with Kewell as has been said getting close on several shots. I say keep the same starting lineup, but I think Heskey will start because he scored last time out, plus Houllier likes to fiddle around.

Toon lost against Marseilles i believe 2-0, so they are either totally demoralized (hopefully) or full of fire and going all out for the CL place (hopefully not)

Our game against Birmingham is essential, because I think we can take a full 3 points from Newcastle at Anfield. We win these last two and obviously its Cl for us. We lose, and Im worried about Aston Villa sneaking in and taking that 4th spot.

Does anyone have any idea why Baros hasnt even sniffed some playing time? I cant remember his last start.
Could it be that LFC mgt want to showcase Emile a little so they can get some $$ for him.
Or are they going to unload Baros with Cisse coming?

I think Houllier is trying to field the best team possible. Qualifying for the Champions League will bring in much more money than whatever we would sell Heskey for. Houllier apparently doesn't think that Barros and Owen play well together. I think Heskey will start again on Sunday with Kewell moving back to his midfield spot.

I still believe if it weren't for Owen maybe or maybe not entering contract negotiations his form and attitude in some of the games this latter half of the season would have seen him on the bench - and Baros starting.

Everytime Baros is on the pitch his enthusiasm, directness and commitment - anmd shortage of skill, have not only the oppsotion defence on the backfoot - but actually shows up Liverpool's other attacking players too.

Having said that, it doesn't matter - GH is gonna pick Owen to play, Baros on the bench. I just hope Baros isn't that despondent that he'd consider leaving in the Summer.

Baros couldn't have done much more to impress - unlike certain others who needed to show their worth in difficult times - and failed.

C'mon the RedMen.- ALL of them.

MiniLB plays at 12 noon EDT so I'll catch the result through watching the delayed FSW broadcast -- either at home or the local. I think we will win. I certainly hope so. C'mon Wolves take some flesh on your way out of the Premiereship. :D

Yeh my girls are playing at 9am central and at 11am central. I have to go to a wedding in the afternoon (wife's best friend), tape the match and watch it before the wedding reception that night.

Somehow I have to wangle my way to my Sunday league match on Mother's day morning too.

"Hey luv, off to buy you some flowers, back in a bit"

Two hours later, muddy Scouser enters house without flowers and grabs a few withered daffodils from the front garden.

"There you go luv, you're the best Mum ever. Errr.. I need as shower, be right back ..."

    Hmmmm, divorce papers on Monday???

    :D :D

I have a busy little day as well. 9:30 we have practice with the U13 boys. (My poor knees) then we’re having a get together afterwards first annual boys vs. parents match. With a Brat. party afterwards. (I'll make sure they're tired after practice..!)
Don’t know who the silly bugger is who came up with that idea.

Today my wife tells me we’ve been scheduled for the office from noon until 6 pm…!!! (Even though I told them not to.)

But bless her little cotton knickers she’ll cover for me, hoping it’s not going to be too crazy. I should make it in by 2pm.

I’ll tape the game for later, remembering that I'm on PST. Sometimes it’s nice knowing that I’m not going to hear the result blurted out on the street.

Hey! I caught the "Pool / boro match on TV just before and it was as funny as hell. They had a guy from Liverpool and a guy from boro going at it doing the comms. Lots of banter back and forth and at the same time they have text messages from people who were e-mailing comments in from home.

Beats the hell out of Max Bretos and that embarrassing English twat they sometimes put on. (Forgotten his name but he's bald and had a silly ponytail during the WC)

Let's see, Birmingham will be playing their reserve team, because the last team they want in the CL is Villa.

And when we play the Newcastle, United will be resting all 16 of their first team ready for the FA cup final. Playing their boys team against villa, because the last team they want in the CL is Liverpool.

Do you realize that if we do beat the "Toon there's a good chance that Newcastle won't even get a place in the UAFA Cup...!

I know I wish Milan got more time. I thinks he adds an exciting element to the attack. I really don't know why Houllier is so reluctant to start him with Owen. I think they work well together.

Not sure I agree. Baros makes too many similar runs. I've never really had the impression that he and Owen have "clicked".

That's my feeling as well, when they run off the ball they tend to end up in the same place. Don't get me wrong, I like Milan. He is good and fits that right side striker role but guess who's already there.
Kewell on the other hand splits nicely to the opposite side. Last game they both gave us some exciting moments.

We're underway. Riise down after a challenge from Tebily in the first minute.

    Biscan warming up.
