LEE Clark has welcomed Jonathan Spector’s return to the Birmingham City fold.
And Clark praised Will Packwood for the ‘magnificent’ way he went about deputising for the injured Stephen Carr in Blues opening match of the season.
Spector has not figured at all in any friendlies as he was on the mend from a severe thigh injury, sustained in the Championship play-off semi-final.
But Clark named him in the 18 for Charlton Athletic’s visit, with Carr not available.

And Spector came on for Packwood, who was making his debut, in the 63rd minute.
“We were delighted to get him back out on the pitch and he’s come through unscathed,” said the manager.
“Jonathan is going to be a vital part of our squad because of his versatility alone.
“He does such a good job playing in all the positions as well.
“He’s a good athlete, so it was important he got a bit of time.
“It was no slight on young Will. Not at all.
