I don't know what it is about this guy, but here it is, midseason with Chicago's season floundering. They need a born leader to come in and lead them to the promised land of MLS playoffs. So they signed one (1) Billy Walsh. To make a long story short, Chicago turns things around, Metros continue on their abysmal descent into oblivion, and WALSH lifts his team to a triumphant victory over Columbus ousting the team that turned its back on him. What a story of courage and devotion.
I know man i cant believe it, the guy is amazing. It was such an honor just to step foot in his house. I bet we would have won the MLS Cup if we had kept him. awe shooks, maybe we'll trade for him back next season. Good Luck Billy, your the greatest ::rolls eyes::
Just knocked off nationally ranked JMU from what I heard...... Boy that Billy hasn't an inch of soccer smarts in his body.
You can say that Billy was a crappy player...but, I don't think you can go out and say he didn't know the game.
I don't know what's funnier about this year.... Walsh laughing all the way into the playoffs or all the *real fans who sold their souls and jumped on the Diallo bandwagon. At least when Homer sold his soul, he got what he wanted out of it...
If having Billy Walsh on your team is what it takes to be a winner, then I don't want to be a winner.
Once again, you're blowing the whole Diallo thing WAY out of proportion. Why can't people support Diallo simply because he's a MetroStar? What, are we supposed to root against a player on our team? Something about Diallo makes you very insecure and I think it's time for you to just get over it. If he's here next season, he's here, if he's not, he's not. Congratulations to Billy Walsh for playing on MLS' seventh-best team.
I've got a great idea, why don't we sign (11) eleven Billy Walshes this off-season? Guaranteed MLS Cup!
You know what Ed? You got a point. In the interest of winning, I think some of us may have gotten caught up in the Diallo hype. I still think that if Ammann was on the team, then the trade would have been awful, and as it is, he is a thug. I think retrospect, it was a bad deal for us because he is a cancer in general. I must say that, in his defense, that he did care about winning us over as supporters, but I think that some of us, myself included, were bought too easily. Should we have booed and jeered him? No, but I think we forgot too soon and if we had let the memories linger, he might have played his tail off more to continue to win us over. He got too comfortable too fast. I guess in my desire to win, I lost sight of who and what he was and most importantly, is..... Good to see you on Saturday Ed
Yes it didm, when Walsh started crying. Same thing with Villegas and he was treated no differently. Diallo may have had a crap ending to the season but who didn't? He still wanted to win and he declared his loyalty to the team, but in such an unprofessional playing environment, there's no way anybody can back that talk up. Billy Walsh, proven winner, just like in 1999
Too bad the Fire dropped most of their matches after they signed Walsh on 6/22....8 Losses and Two draws.
Maybe not quite 'nuf. Chicago's 4-3-2 when Billy starts. The numbers are somewhat tainted, though. Two of those W's came vs. Metro.
