Ouch, calling Billy Bragg 'British', what an insult!

Britain isn’t cool you know, its really not that great
It's not a proper country, it doesn’t even have a patron saint
It's just an economic union that’s passed its sell-by date

Not that I don't appreciate his efforts, but I wish Billy Bragg would spend half as much time writing really bad ass songs.

I'm not sure he has that many left in him. A songwriter's like an athlete, right? Has a 10-15 year prime and then everything's downhill from there.

Yea, except I think he's only written maybe three, ever.

Well, I hope you're at least including "God's footballer" in that group.

Difford and Tilbrook are still rocking and writing.

At least they were a few years back.

    Them and Johnny Cash.

Cash wasn't writing songs at the end. He was covering Depeche Mode and Nine Inch Nails.

    Cash-ing in? :)

You so don't listen to NPR.

I heard that his last hit was written for his wife that passed before him. True?

He was writing first-rate songs well into his 60s.
