He talks about the confederate flag issues in Georgia and Soth Carolina. Funny how he forgets to mention the flying of the confederate flag in Arkansas while he was governer there! Isnt that being hypocritical too?

Did the Confederate flag ever fly on the capitol building in Little Rock?

IF it did, then did Clinton ever oppose people who wanted to take the stars and bars down.

Flying the rebel flag over state buildings or keeping the battle flag as part of the actual state flag were never platforms on which he ran. The Republicans in contrast, have in the past, and are continuing to focus their campaign strategy in many of these states in support of the confederate flag.

It flew over the governer's mansion in Little Rock.

Come on now, you have got to admit he is being a hypocrite!

Guys, I don't mean to rain on your little parade of Clinton-bashing, because there's few people who deserve it more, but could you at least stick to the facts on this issue?

The Confederate Battle Flag never flew over the Governor's mansion. The flap is over one star that appears in the Arkansas state flag. It is unquestionably true that there's more than a little hypocrisy in the Democratic stance on race issues with regard to Republicans.

    But this? This is nothing.

I don't believe for a second that the confederate flag flew over the Arkansas governor's mansion. I'm sure it did in the 1860s, and maybe it did up until even the 1960s, but there's no way Clinton would've flown that flag while he was governor.

Say what you will about Clinton, but he is in no way, shape or form a bigot.

And ruins all the positive we still remember.

Let's not forget that a presidency cannot be judged this far out. In 20 or so years Clinton will be as relevant as Eric Wynalda is to US soccer.

To think, America might not ever elect another balck president. :D

Bill Clinton is an a**hole, pure and simple. So is his wife. They are the very definition of trailer trash and have taken their rightful place in American society next to Tonya Harding as the butt of many jokes.

    Are democrats really that stupid?
Hillary on the ticket against President Bush?Worse thrashing in Presidential history. Now i know the election is just under two years off.But the presidents numbers would have to take an Enron plunge to make that even a close race.Heck, I find it funny that the poll didnt have a Hillary-Bush face off, while they ran numbers for all of the other major dems against the president. What was the liberal press afraid of? The truth that no one but a few unshaven lesbians like Billary?

Godot beat me to the Snopes link. Man, it is simply beautiful how the name "Clinton" sends the wingnut brigade into convulsions. Based on the last couple of posts, maybe I should support Hillary after all. Hell, put the Big Dog on Mt. Rushmore while we're at it. When you see the people who hate him, how can you not love him?

But Hillary for President is just a name recognition poll, nothing more. I don't remember Dubya being the GOP choice in December 1998, or Bill Clinton being the frontrunner in December 1990. A year from now, we'll know who's raised the most money and we'll have a better idea.

The Democrats don't have anybody with an image or a name that sells. They're all too pasty and generic.

People have heard of Bush before. It's a name they can trust. For 4 whole years a Bush ran the country, and their houses weren't smited by meteorites and their children weren't kidnapped by Gypsies. These Bush's must be doing something right. It fufills their subconscious desires for the return of dynastic despotism to vote for the brand name product.

Hillary won't make the nut. Despite the marketability of a possible Clinton Franchise, having a female president is still a pipe dream...at least in this half of the 21st century.

They'd be better off bringing back Mondale or Dukakis... at least people might recognize those names from 20 year old bumper stickers still stuck to the back of beat up old station wagons.

I think the best thing the Democrats can hope for in the next few years is an absolute bloodbath in Iraq. A thousand or two U.S. casualties during the city fighting should do the trick. Then the Dems can pretend that they never supported this action in the first place, and lap up the anti-war vote.

You liberals get all smug and smirky after linking to a snopes article. Snopes is a friggin liberal cabal, run by two leftists. It's been proven to be an agenda-driven website, quicker to disclaim rumors against liberals than against conservatives. To try passing snopes off as a non-biased arbitrer of all that is false or true is laughable. The authors of snopes probably have a set of Clinton autographed knee pads on their mantle.

I guess that's why their leftist cabal shot down the "Do you have blacks in Brazil," Bush holding the book upside-down, and Bush looking through the binoculars the wrong way legends.

When did the people at the Snopes site rape your pet goldfish, anyway?

Shockingly enough, I agree with Dan here. I've always though the Snopes people were rather balanced and impartial.
