Okay here's a question for you - I want a new bike trainer. I don't want rollers, just a trainer.

I saw some by Elite in cycling mag, they say they are the quietest and reduce tire wear.

What sort of trainers do you have? DO you like them?

I have a Blackburn trainer and its pretty good. Its noisy, and it appears that there is something loose inside the dealy.

We want to get a 2nd trainer so we don't have to remove the bikes all the time as my wife and I both ride. Plus it might be possible to ride at the same time and chat, quite a lovely thought for a couple married 19 years.

Got both a trainer and rollers from CycleOps that have not gotten much use for quite some time since I actually live in an area where riding on the roads is not a death wish.

Your quietest trainers are gonna be the ones that use magnets or fluids to provide resistance...but then again those are gonna be your most expensive. It sounds like you have an air trainer and that is why it's noisy.

How come you guys just don't ride outside? It's a zillion times BETTER than riding in place inside a house.

The trainer provides me with a simple deal. I go to the basement and I ride for 30-60 minutes, no worry about being cold (I don't have any cold weather gear), I don't worry about rain, drivers, anything. Just pedal.

Maybe next spring I'll hit the streets again, but not before.

    So how is your trainer?
