And what would the team of foreign players look like, considering their success and idol status in Peruvian teams?

Maybe I'll try to make one with foreign players in Brazil.

Nice list! It seems that we are in agreement regarding a few starters (Zozimo, Sacchi, Palhinha, Nunes & Rojas). Also, your LB starter (Enrique) is in my squad. Now that I look at Monzón's Wikipedia page, it seems that it is unsure about the number of games he played for Allianza Lima. So, did he play at all is the question.

Regarding Didi, Wikipedia says that he played 32 league games for Sporting Cristal in 1962-1964. Is this inaccurate? Perhaps confusing his games as manager at the time? Or were all 32 games friendlies? For Míguez, it does not give any stats, so could be as you say.

Quiroga was technically a foreigner, but to simplify things, I have thus far excluded players who ended up getting naturalized and represented that country internationally.

Varacka is a good pick, one I hadn't thought of before. However, not sure about Montaño nor Tejada. Montaño's club career looks very modest (failed in Serie A, very few appearances across different clubs in Colombia, etc.), and he only gained six caps for his national team in total. As for Tejada (may he RIP), he did a lot for his country Panama. On the other hand, he had poor stints in Mexico and USA, so I would rate his club career a bit middling in terms of impact in a relatively big league.

Wiki data is not reliable. Most articles from the era asked themselves why Didi didn't played oficially, just being Manager. It's verified he played in a couple of international friendlies.

Monzón stayed in Alianza 1 month and a half, he played 2 Libertadores matches, a couple of friendlies and none in local league.

I'll make again the list, excluding naturalized players who representing Perú and adding recent players.

    Massimo Agostini (Italy)

    Marco Bernacci (Italy)

    Marco Martini (Italy)

    Andrea Compagno (Italy)

    SAN MARINO XI

    Agostini - Bernacci

Lantignotti - De Falco - Cejas - Ricchiuti

    Rizzato - Aldair (c) - Zaccardo - Maicon

    Branduani

Yes, this is the Roma legend Aldair. And yes, that is Douglas Maicon at RB. An overal strong backline, but midfield is terrible. Agostini upfront is pretty decent. And just like the Andorra team, San Marino Calcio players who didn't play in other San Marino teams are excluded. This is because San Marino Calcio plays in the Italien league pyramid.

Didn't think I'd make new changes so soon, but here we are...

    Kazakhstan:

In: Victor Moses (Nigeria) & Nani (Portugal)
Out: Andrey Tikhonov (Russia) & Maksim Shatskikh (Uzbekistan)

I think both will be starters instead of Tošić and Titov. Honestly, wanted to keep Shatskikh, but it came down to him or Ratinho...

    Azerbaijan:

    In: Vincent Aboubakar (Cameroon)
    Out: Aleksandr Iashvili (Georgia)

Aboubakar starts next to Mpenza. So yeah, Iashvili went from starter to not in the squad alas.

    Georgia:

    In: Gino Peruzzi (Argentina)
    Out: Samuel Inkoom (Ghana)

Think I'll have Peruzzi as a starter ahead of Janse.

    Indonesia:

    In: Layvin Kurzawa (France)
Out: Daisuke Sato (Philippines, not Japan as I had stated)

Kurzawa naturally make the starting eleven ahead of Boban Nikolić.

    Thailand:

    In: Andros Townsend (England)
    Out: Frank Acheampong (Ghana)

Also, it seems that I forgot to implement the Linz/Hosogai change from post #49.

Japan: Was Carlos Mozer better than Oscar Bernardi? I'm considering making a swap in the XI.

Greece: Should Oleh Protasov be in the squad? If so, at the expense of whom? Recoba? Also wondering if I should move van de Kerkhof back, and give Rivaldo a second striker role because he apparently didn't like playing on the left?

Scotland: I feel like Joe Hart has to be in the squad, for his prime years. Then maybe remove Boruc.

    Paolo Guerrero (Peru)
    Carlos Caszely (Chile)

    10 open spots...

    Fernando Riera (Chile)

    Carlos Bacca (Colombia)

    Walter Gómez
    (Uruguay)

    Adolfo Valencia (Colombia)

    Oswaldo Ramírez (Peru)

    Arnoldo Iguarán (Colombia)

    VENEZUELA XI

    Bacca - Gómez

    Neto
    - Andrade - Popović (c) - Jairzinho

    Pereira
    - Areso - Brito - Nelinho

    Higuita

For clarification, Brito is the one born in 1939, Neto the one born in 1966, and Andrade the one born in 1957. By the way, I've lost count how many times Álvaro Pereira has appeared in these teams. I think the reason is that the fullback position is less competitive when it comes to foreigners in most leagues outside the major ones.

Nice! Do you know if Waldemar Victorino played any games for Sport Boys and Defensor Lima in the late 80s? He could be a good forward option if so.

One team that was put on hold is Saudi Arabia. This is due to their ongoing project of bringing as many high-profile players to their league as possible, since the Ronaldo transfer in 2022. That's not to say that there hadn't been big foreigners prior to that. However, what they are doing now is similar to China and India in the first half of the 2010s. Both of which have more or less stopped with their marquee signings.

So, whatever team I make will probably be subject to change each transfer window. A lot of good players will thus be omitted.

    SAUDI ARABIA

    Bono (Morocco)

    Edouard Mendy (Senegal)

    David Ospina (Colombia)

    Théo Hernandez (France)

    Lee Young-pyo (South Korea)

    Aymeric Laporte (Spain)

    Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal)

    Nacho (Spain)

    Chris Smalling (England)

    João Cancelo (Portugal)

    Toninho (Brazil)

    N'Golo Kanté (France)

    Marcelo Brozović (Croatia)

    Fabinho (Brazil)

    Ivan Rakitić (Croatia)

    Rivellino (Brazil)

    Roberto Donadoni (Italy)

    Riyad Mahrez (Algeria)

    Kingsley Coman (France)

    Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal)

    Neymar (Brazil)

    Karim Benzema (France)

    Hristo Stoichkov (Bulgaria)

    SAUDI ARABIA XI

    Benzema - Ronaldo - Neymar

    Rivellino - Kanté - Donadoni (c)

*For Russia, should Ezequiel Garay replace Dejan Lovren? From what I can remember, Lovren was never the most consistent player, even though he was part of a successful Liverpool under Klopp.

*For Scotland, right back Jeremie Frimpong (Netherlands) is in and Mikael Lustig (Sweden) is

*For Denmark, center back Yann Bisseck (Germany) could oust Djourou or Boulahrouz if his career continues to go in the right direction at Inter

*For Croatia, I have mistaken Fabrice Ondoa for Fabrice Olinga. It's supposed to be the former, who's a goalie, while the latter is a forward.

*For Czechia, I should have made Sesta the starter instead of Marek Čech a long time ago. Also, István Nyers (Hungary) instead of Miroslav Stoch (Slovakia) is a no-brainer. What was his best position?

*In the latest update, I accidentally removed Milenko Ačimovič (Slovenia) for Serbia

*For Israel, I have had the wrong nationality for Peter Lorimer. It's supposed to be Scotland, not England. I guess there's no one to really point out these types of errors in obscure projects like this thread, lol. Also, I wonder now if he actually played for Hapoel Haifa in 1986. He was brought in as a player, but quickly became a manager. Quick enough that he never got to play? How can one even find out the answer?

*Should Trezeguet start ahead of Forlán for India?

*For Iran, Jürgen Locadia should have been listed as Curaçao rather than Netherlands since 2023. Continuing with Iran, Munir El Haddadi (Morocco) is in, and Cheick Diabaté (Mali) is out.

*For Hong Kong, Shaun Teale (England) is in, and Yochanan Vollach (Israel) is out. Maybe even starter ahead of Baffoe. Interestingly, Bobby Moore seems to have played only 15 minutes for Eastern SC in the 1981 Senior Shield Final. Technically counts, but I have some qualms about these types of one-off guest appearances. I have to go through all my selections during the old eras to see who else there is. Keegan and Ardiles in Australia are two other examples...On the other hand, one player who is playing there right now "for real" is Asier Illarramendi. The midfield is fairly competitive already, though.

*For Venezuela, maybe bring in Dorval Rodrigues (Brazil) instead of Juan Ramón Carrasco or Fernando Riera?

*I may have made a mistake believing that Bobby Charlton played professionally in South Africa. Have I gotten it wrong? If that's the case, then I'll have to think of a replacement.
