Thought I should get it going with a few days before the season starts if there is enough interest. I prefer not manage as I don't think I will be able to do it week in week out. I can do a little, don't know if Superseb or anybody else wants to do it full time. State which team you want to be in this thread. I will be Lille.

I'm in again. I thoroughly enjoy this as I like the different way of scoring. I'll take Nancy again as I feel obliged to with the signings of Fortune and especially N'Guemo, who has been a revelation so far, albeit in a small period of time.

I don't mind doing the league if no one else is interested.

    Rules:
Each week some one will play head-to-head against some one from another club that is playing that same week in real life. For example, I (Lille) will be playing against Lorient in week 1. Who ever chooses Lorient will play me for that week in head-to-head picks.

All you do is send in your predictions for the 10 games played each weekend. 1 point awarded for the correct result and 2 points awarded for exact score. Who ever has the most points in the head-to-head competitions wins and is awarded 3 points for the overall table. A tie is 1 point and a loss is 0. If you don't send in your predictions for the week, the amount of goals the club scores in real life is doubled to give you your points for the week.

It's some what confusing, but hopefully you get the picture.;)

I'll play even though I was terrible last year. I'll take Nice because I think Remy is gonna score a lot of goals.

I did a lot of the table upkeep last year but, if frasermc doesn't mind doing it, that is good.. I'm happy to assist whenever needed.

I totally guessed my way through last year as Monaco and almost won. Just to make it easier, I'll stick with that sorry excuse for a club.

Am I correct in thinking that the new season starts on Saturday?

So it would be best to miss the first weekend in the hope that more people sign up for the league? Unless of course we have a big rush over the next 36hrs or so.

We should skip the first weekend.

Eh, close enough. Plus lots of people in Paris prefer rugby to soccer, anyway. So why should I even care?:D

Oh, I'm in. Hopefully I can remember to do it every week this time. I'll take Marseille.

I guess we can still make predictions and the vacant teams' points will be determined by the number of goals doubled in real life. Then next week, people are still free to join.

Can we also get this stickied.:D

On second thought, lets skip this week and start it next week.

Yea, I hadn't seen it until I decided to look and see if we were doing this again.

This is the list at the minute. With prvev in as well that makes 7. I think we need to have at least double figures to make it an interesting and worthwhile venture/season. Hopefully more will come on board that haven't noticed the thread yet.

    No more takers?

I enjoy this a lot but is it going to be worth it if there are only 7 of us taking part each weekend...?

I was thinking the same thing. Is there any way we could publicize this a bit more? I didn't find out about this last season until reignking (or prvev) mentioned it over in YA.

Yes, we need more people...not sure what to do, though.

I'm a little disappointed as well. I put a message in last season's thread but there hasn't been much interest apparently. I'll just spend the season working on my french language skills instead of guessing scores for teams I know nothing about.

How about we don't use the regular format and do another one? Players aren't assigned to actual clubs.

    3 points correct score
    1 point for correct outcome

    Does that work?

I will take Le Mans. I would have taken PSG, but a non-supporter took them already so...

Since you're so nice about it, you can have PSG. I'll happily switch to Rennes to accomodate.

Before calling strangers out on the internet, ask yourself if they may have a huge soft spot for PSG after going to over a dozen of their matches during the years they've spent living and working in France.
