Discussion about the cup goes here Reminder the website is here: http://iats-coe2.missouri.edu/~whistlet/mark/battrick.html Good luck in tomorrow's games everyone.
Some early games are done. Mine is underway, made 321-4 and monkey is currently 177-3 after 35 overs. So he needs to hit more than 9 an over to win. HT GM showdown today as GM-Helg plays GM-George today. Chris would be the first to admit George is favourite for this one. Norse v Korn Fed should be a great match today. Pick of the round.
Battle for first place in Group 2: End of Over 39: 168-6, runrate=4.31 Atlanta Mosquitos batting and not doing that great a job on a flat pitch.
Norse opens BS BT Cup play with a 55-run win over Korn Fed. Sulieman Seargeant (158 not out) and Devon Liburd (5-50) paced the batsmen and bowlers, respectively, for the Norsemen, with Liburd winning the match reporter's MOTM.
DC beats the Atlanta Mosquitos to go clear on 8 pts. In other news, the KC Hammers - defending champs - dropped their second straight game in the Cup.
Next round fixtures: Week 3 (November 27) The Huns v Martinique Serpents Scouse Cricket v Wicketkeepers KC Hammers v Atlanta Mosquitos DC United v Los Burritos theresonlyoneweknow v Dynamo KC Cyclones v Kingston Hornets monkey spunk mopeds v Guiseley Snodland Marmots v KC Googlies Banagher Knights v Lazers Deathspawn v Atlanta Fury winningconnection v Norse Athletic Club Korn Fed v Tripods Get challenging!
Neither one of us did that well on the flat pitch.... I almost outlasted you... just couldn't hold you off till the end of 50... oh well.
Yeah - I thought I was going to beat you senseless after I held you to a low run rate but then Tutt and Gordon went down early and I had a few overs with one or two runs and I thought I was a dead man. I feel pretty good about getting out of the round now - won both my games on the road so far. Figure that should mean something.
399-1 336-8 Man, were we throwing beach balls out there, or what? The hilarious part is, you knocked out my strong batter after 8 whole runs, in a game where centuries were being handed out like a season of Doctor Who.
Well, my bowlers suck, and my batsman are awesome, so that might be part of it. Of course, your top batsmen didn't do anything. Maybe you don't know that you put your bowlers at the bottom of the lineup and your batsman at the top I guess this is a good time to mention that my 18 yo put 209 not out
Come to Martinique, and pad your stats! By the way, attila of The Huns, as soon as BT lets me accept the challenge, I'll be there. Dunno what's going on.
I'm pretty sure he's in the KC fed with kopite. Pretty easy win. It was nice since he kicks my ass in our HT series
Ok, website updated: http://iats-coe2.missouri.edu/~whistlet/mark/battrick.html Second round starts next weekend and group 6 concludes. Round Two starts Los Burritos v Scouse Cricket DC United v Deathspawn Cyclones v Snodland Marmots Banagher Knights v Martinique Serpents Group 6 concludes Norse Athletic Club v Tripods Korn Fed v winningconnection Bye week: Dynamo KC; KC Googlies
Tale of the tape on the cup Group A 1. Los Burritos; 2. Scouse Cricket; 3. Dynamo KC Los Burritos defeated DCU in its last match and Scouse Cricket went undefeated. Dynamo are no slouches either. Should be close all the way. Scouse Cricket scored the highest total of any team in the tourney with 399 against Martinique. That makes them my favourite to reach the Final Four. Group B 1. DC United 2. Deathspawn 3. KC Googlies Deathspawn are the serious minnow in this group with DCU and Googlies fighting it out for the Final Four spot. DCU did overcome the current champs KC Hammers in the last round and with that pedigree is my favourite to advance. Group C 1. Cyclones 2. Snodland Marmots 3. Group 6 qualifier Cyclones has what it takes to defeat Snodland and whoever gets out of group 6 will be a tough test. Hard to predict as the third team is unknown but I think Cyclones can defeat any team that advances. Group D 1. Banagher Knights 2. Martinique Serpents 3. Group 6 qualifier Banagher Knights should beat up on Martinique with his great team. The group 6 qualifier -- most likely winning connection will give Banagher a run for his money and I see winning connection (if he advances as expected) to win this one. Who are your picks?
I've recently started holding on to some of my less crappy but not stellar yp's... depth and personal fitness is going to be a big deal next year so I'll be very careful. As such, my BS Cup team ain't nothin like the squad from last year. (or this year's cup)
