First "win" of the offseason! Congrats to Ronnie and kudos to HSG and MLS for getting the deal done early.

Just in time for the Town Hall meeting....very smart, HSG. :)

But seriously, good job getting this done, HSG. Perhaps he isn't a big name that will put butts into seats in Frisco, but he is the team's best overall player and he sets an example for everyone else on the field. The guy busts his ass for the full 90, you never see him lagging behind the play.

My congrats to you guys from a Wizards fan. I really like Ronnie's game and what he brings everytime I get a chance to see him play. He is a definite plus for FC Dallas and MLS as a whole. As far as him not the kind of guy that doesn't put butts in the seats, he is one of the main reasons I follow your team. Not afraid to take anyone on if necessary and can deliver pin point passes and shots when needed. I honestly believe he is a cornerstone player for your club and now it looks like he has a contract with some length that recognizes that. Good job by your FO.

Nice guy, solid professional, big come back story from last year (where he could've chosen to say "goodbye" to MLS and the States), wing play that makes me wish he were married to an American. Great news!

Congrats! He is one of my favorite players in the league. It's quite possible for MLS to make some money off this deal in a year or two as he's got the talent to play with the big boys.

Now, let's hope he gets called up for Ireland, and shines. Then, World Cup in two years? We can dream!

Great news. And it got done very quickly. Give credit to HSG and Greg Elliott for making this happen.

Okay Ronnie - lets see some more goals, my man. We're counting on you.

But you haven't actually gone to any of our games in Dallas, hence your butt wasn't put into a seat. My point is that he isn't the kind of player to bring non-hardcores to the game. The kind of butts in seats that this club is trying to attract in Frisco. Jason Kries will do more for attendance as the "All Time Leading Goal Scorer" even though his contribution to the team was far less this past season and certainly will be next. That was my point.

    Nice news.

But even better would be locking EJ into a multi-year contract.

I loves me some FC Dallas but, I'd rather see EJ here for one or two more years then see the "Grown Ass Man" head to Europe and whoop up on some "Dumb Ass Euros".

This is a great move. Hopefully this is indicative of the attitude and ambition of the FO this office season.

I spoke with ROB last night after the THM meeting. He said he never wanted to leave Dallas and was very happy to be here for hopefully 4 more years.

Total speculation is called for on this:

1- If he does not have an American girlfriend, can someone please find him one to marry to get his green card? Hello, let's get our priorities right!

2- Since he wanted to stay, he probably agreed to a ballpark figure about 100k a year plus bonus money, which is good enough money in Dallas for most things. And that would mean he won't be a cap issue for the Major Player ALLOCATION.

...why doesn't ireland call him up? even if its just for a training session or something, i think he's worth it.

he played for their youth teams, left to play elsewhere in europe, and then dropped of the ireland radar...anyone know what happened?
