... do you guys now how seriously LA is taking this game tonight?

Are they going to play their starters? Actually does anyone know who the starters for tonight will be?

I know Real want a good showing, but they will probably rotate most of the players in the bench at some point in the game is my guess. Remember that Real are doing their pre-season training right now.

Any good quotes or news from the LA side for this game?

Thanks and let the best team win!!!

My guess is that LA is taking this real seriously and will field the best starting line-up to compete.

Have they agreed on a non-standard number of subs? Or does the standard 3 subs rule prevail?

There will be way more than three subs. Real has only been back together for about a week, and the only players to play the full 90 in Chicago were Casillas, Beckham, and Graveson I believe. There might be another I'm missing. I think you will probably see Raul start this time, as he only got about 30 minutes last game. I'm guessing Raul paired with Ronaldo to start, with owen coming on to replace Ronaldo at half, and Soldado in later in the second for Raul.

It will also be interesting to see if Figo plays at all, with the rumors circulating he could be in wearing Inter colors by Wednesday.

Yeah...it's serious enough that Arena isn't allowing Landon to join the team.

Let's remember that the Galaxy players and coaches, etc. will be trying to impress Real Madrid. Certainly not to get a job with Real, but Madrid people and staff know everyone in the futbol world on some level.

So, let's say Ned Grabavoy makes a few impressive plays and looks good (LIKE HE freaking usually does, Steve!). A Real Madrid coach spots it and is midly impressed. When his friend from Villareal or Osasuna or anywhere really calls and they start chatting and he says, "You know, the Galaxy had great facilities, but their players were tactically and skillfully limited...well, except this one kid...." You never know.

Now, several Real players are actually looking to win minutes in the preseason, so I expect a nice game tonight.

I think the Galaxy fans should be the ones trying to impress Real Madrid. Let's give those overpriced players a real reason to consider playing for the Galaxy. All you hot lookin' young ladies going to the match tonight -- show 'em your boobs (and let the fans see 'em too)!!!!!!! :D

I'm pretty sure that if you're playing for Real Madrid, you've seen enough boobs for 5 lifetimes.

Yes, but I'm talking about in the crowd, not coaches or others players on the field.

As much as I hate Real Madrid it would be cool to see someone like Marshall or Albright on their team someday.

BTW.....have I mentioned how much I still miss Saragoza!

I agree with you Che Chico that we miss Saragoza...however I think Nagamura has done a very respectable job and I am happy with him as well.

I'm pissed that Donovan won't be able to play. The Galaxy look pretty clueless without him. MLS pays him a big ass contract and he won't be playing in this game which is very important for MLS's image. Seriously, why should the USNT give a ripe fart about the Gold Cup?

I hope you guys look good tonight...good luck :)

yeah really.. i couldnt care less if america lost the gold cup or if their wasnt a gold cup.. really your just playing the same teams u beat over and over again in qualifying.. its like saying, "hey jamiaca we can still beat you." Landon should be in LA.

plus it's wc qualifying time. gold cup shouldn't be around during this time.. but it brings more revenue to soccer in the united states. thats why they do it. Gold Cup is to put younger players in and give them a look. Should just put a younger player in their and give Landon a break.
