I was watching the rapids play last night, and Colaluca got in the game. I liked what i seen from him. Why did he get away from SN in the draft. I think a big mistake
I'm not sure why he passed on Colaluca. He is a talented midfielder (I know this from first-hand experience), and since we had just lost Deuce, I'm kinda surprised he didn't pick the local boy in the draft. I don't have anything against our rookie class (would like to see more from Wells, though), and I wouldn't classify it as a "big mistake", but I thought Colaluca would've been a decent addition to the roster.
I thought in his one chance to do anything, he looked pretty silly trying to kick the ball with his left foot. I have no idea how you can evaluate him with limited time and no good touches. Thompson's played in all four games and definitely looked better than Colaluca in the first two.
yes, i seen the bobo's. but he was in the right on the first goal and was the cause of the pass back on the second. If roberto passed to him, colaluca would have an open net. and the pressure on the d. caused the back pass.
Nico practiced often with the Revs, if he was available at #12 the Revs would have taken him (I'm assuming). The Revs got a closer look at him then other teams so they know what he has to offer. Nicol believed Wells brought more to the table then Nico.
Sure, he hustled for twenty-odd minutes. Darren Swatsky used to run around the field too. Waaaaaaay too early to call it a mistake to pass on Colaluca.
Hypothetical questions generate only hypothetical answers---ah but then what would we do on this Board without endless, mindless hypothetical abstract gyrations.
This is true. Nicol had seem him up close against pros several times. I guess he wasn't impressed. I only saw him play a few times and while he is clever on the ball he is not big nor particularl fast. His game may just not translate well to MLS. Perhaps he reminded Nicol of Cancela ?
Speaking of Pepe, anyone think that he'll ever play for Clavijo?? Seems to me he's just going to waste away on the bench.
