The Big East is wide open this year. St John's shouldn't be looking too far ahead to UConn. They have to get past Notre Dame today, and they have Rutgers on the road October 9. Let's also not forget that they've already lost to Boston College. Any one of these teams could win the Big East: Rutgers--has posted 4 shutouts in six games, and hasn't given up a goal when David Boutilier plays, Notre Dame--this team is for real and deserves their top 10 ranking, St. John's--may be the best team in college soccer (I'll know more when I see them next weekend against UCLA), Boston College--is big and athletic and is the one team that no one wants to play, and UConn--really hasn't played a tough team yet, but already has a road loss to Seton Hall. Where I've had no problem sticking my neck out and picking Wake Forest to win the ACC, I'm not about to make a prediction in the Big East. Any one of these five teams could win this thing.
