This is why its more entertaining when the Dems lose. The hyperbolic grandstanding and declarations of woe. Far more entertaining then the grumpy sullen act that Reps put on.
Feel free to commiserate with your fellow whiners here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/duforum/DCForumID60/16038.html
Since when are Democrats not for big buisness? I suppose all those millions in lobby money only came from inner city baptist churches... Anyway, don't blame me, i voted Libertarian...along with 10,014 other people in the great state of Maryland...yep, I'm a 1%'er...think i'll buy a Harley and chain-whip somebody...
The Libertarians pulled down a hefty 3% in my state in the gubernatorial race with 24,000 or so votes, which I thought was pretty cool. Plus the candidates last name was Sophocleus...and you've got to love that. They actually drew as high as 30-40% in some of the state House & Senate elections. Of course, we are about to be the new Florida considering the winning Governor hasn't been declared yet as both sides are contesting the results.
While I'm not really pleased about the results in the House and Senate either, whining about it really doesn't accomplish anything. And while were talking about whining -- Don't think for one minute that if the shoe was on the other foot (i.e., if the Dems had gained control of Congress) that there wouldn't be a few Republicans here whining about what happened.
Not happy either about the results. Especially my District Rep, the honorable arse Tom Tancredo! Just wait Tommy, you'll be brought down to your knees soon enough. While not happy, I'm kind of excited. I want to see what happens first. They won't have a scapegoat this time around. Therefore, the democrats should just go along with the republicans and show the people what their really about. Am I the only one who enjoyed watching the returns to the wee hours in the morning, even with the loss (with the exception of those at victory parties)?
When the poster boy for your party is Terry McAuliffe of Global Crossing fame then it's kinda hard to run against "big business" and "the rich".
Just be prepared back to the dark age the next two years. You can expect more homelessness, more kid mulnutrition, more hunger families, more gun violence, more unemployment, more poverty, more drug abuses, more mental diseases, more depression, more labor disputes, more social injustice. Homecides, suicides, shopliftings, moral collapsing... More trees get cut down, more water resources get polluted, more terrorist attacks, more civil right violations...more ***************s hit the fan... Everyone in the world hates us...US lost all the friends, allies... 2004, where are you?
WAAH! WAAH!! Written like a true juvenile Democrat. I hope you can pull your *************** together for the next anti-capitalist march in Seattle or Washington DC. I hear that tear gas really stings. I for one don't give a crap what France or Germany thinks about our politics or president. They go through govts. like toilet paper over there and we don't seem to mind. When 2004 rolls around and Al Gore gets the thumbs down from Americans once again, you & Alec Baldwin can move to North Korea together and set up a commune.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That was funny. Dude, the Republicans haven't held all 3 branches of government since the early Eisenhower years. We've never had the opportunity to unleash the full program without hinderance from one branch or another. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised.
Yeah...I just can't wait for another one of those $100 rebate checks...that'll buy my support. And if you're looking for a return to the Eisenhower days, It kind of helps if you have 20 odd years of economic depression and World War before hand.
News flash: Accepting rebate checks are not mandatory. Let the government keep yours or better yet send it to a good charity. Or, maybe you can hand it over to the homeless guy on the street corner so he can get another 40 ouncer.
I am really enjoying these whining Democrats. Hey, if they can't see why they lost, all the better. They can keep doing what earned them their second historic loss in eight years and see where it gets them. The media here in Taiwan couldn't contain their joy at the Republican victory. The Gonghedang (as the Republicans are known here) is very popular with the Taiwanese (for obvious reasons).
I think it's better to accept defeat gracefully and get on with it. Sadly it seems some can't do that.
While I'm no fan of Tancredo, you've got to be kidding yourself. He's in a very safe GOP district which at least in part explains his arrogance. If he goes down it will be to another Republican in the primary.
As a moderate dem, I find this pretty funny. And not in a sarcastic kinda way. It's funny cuz it's true.
