https://big12sports.com/standings.aspx?standings=169 TCU is talented with a strong offensive attack. Texas is in the middle of the pack with youngsters. All playing a stronger out of conference in Big 10, WCC schools. Conference play begins this weeek!
The standings are a little misleading when you figure in strength of schedule. I thought Texas would be doing better with the recruiting class they brought in. They didn't win any games against good competition.
Here is how the RPI, which does take strength of schedule into consideration, currently has the teams. This still is primitive: TCU BigTwelve 0.6982 7 KansasU BigTwelve 0.6438 25 WestVirginiaU BigTwelve 0.6399 26 Baylor BigTwelve 0.5969 55 TexasTech BigTwelve 0.5917 61 OklahomaState BigTwelve 0.5899 63 TexasU BigTwelve 0.5525 97 OklahomaU BigTwelve 0.5439 106 KansasState BigTwelve 0.5106 147 IowaState BigTwelve 0.4987 170 The big differences are for Kansas and Texas Tech.
It seems like Texas is starting to get a bit more on track. They have done better the past several games. They were less competitive programs but still maybe getting into a groove with some of their new recruits. Will be interesting to see where they end up. The program that does not seem to be getting into a groove is Oklahoma. 0-7 loss to Texas Tech this week - ouch!
How quickly things are changing. I think TCU is really good, but maybe they are more vulnerable than I thought. I will try to check out Texas this week. I watched some of those girls play DA in highschool, and they are legit. I'm not a Baylor fan, so I'm hoping Tech will stop their streak.

Who’s watching the conference tournament games tomorrow? Any predictions? Would expect TCU and Texas to win their games but not sure about the others. On an interesting note, saw the thread about the Jamaican HC being accused of sexual misconduct. I recall reading somewhere about a coach in the Big 12 being connected with the Jamaican team ( I think it was Oklahoma or?). such a small world in soccer.
Looks to be some interesting games today - TCU barely squeaked out a win against Iowa St which was a shocker. W Virginia game should be fun to watch- got some strong players but will they be able to put it all together to pull out a win against the fire power of their opponent?

I didn't feel like starting a new thread so am bumping this one. Yes, 2021 was hard year for Kansas as was '22, & '23. Last year the Jayhawks were 4-8-6 overall and 1-7-2 in the Big 12. This year they were 13-5-4 & 6-4-1. On Saturday they beat #7 TCU, 1-0, to win the Big 12 championship. Congrats to first year coach Nate Lie.
I, for one, am more than happy to have Nate Lie out of the Big East. While I have on occasion found some of his comments to be a little too "throwing the players under the bus" for my liking, he's as capable of growth and maturation as anyone else. And he certainly seems to know what he's doing from the standpoint of creating a culture of accountability, while also recruiting solid talent and putting that talent on a growth trajectory over their time in the program. So yes, congrats to him and the Jayhawks. Party at The Oread!
