Crew Head Coach Greg Andrulis Kicks Off "Soccer Aid for Juvenile Diabetes"

    Columbus Crew Press Office
    June 5, 2003

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Thursday, June 5) - At an emotional press luncheon today, Columbus Crew Head Coach Greg Andrulis announced today the formation of "Soccer Aid," a unique adrenaline-loaded fundraiser for Juvenile Diabetes Research.

The exciting program being launched will capitalize on soccer fans' passion for the sport to raise money for a disease that is very important to Greg and his family, Juvenile Diabetes. Greg's eight-year-old son Austin has diabetes. Austin, Greg's wife Lorrie and daughter Maggie were all in attendance today.

The concept is simple. Soccer fans bid on-line at TheCrew.com / EBay for a chance to win autographed soccer jerseys of premier soccer players from around the U.S. and world, as well as a chance to experience the thrill of match day at Columbus Crew Stadium.

The first eight jerseys up for bidding are Jeff Agoos (San Jose Earthquakes), Taylor Twellman (New England Revolution), Mark Chung (Colorado Rapids), and Crew jerseys of Brian Dunseth, Daniel Torres, Freddy Garcia, Edson Buddle and Brian West.

    Bid on the jerseys!
