McBride named to the squad list, according to the thread's accompanying link. Quick briefing for those who missed out on the transfer window for Fulham: Of those players, Hangelund and Andreasson have already made their debut, while Nevaland has been named to the squad. EJ, Stalteri, and the rest are still MIA. While McBride's inclusion in the match day lineup is still pending a physician assessment, it's tremendous that he's close enough to being ready that he completed 90 in a friendly, and was named to the squad.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 If EJ is going to miss the Mexico game he damn well better be on the bench at least. Otherwise, why the thanks to Bob for letting him go? Is this just projected or is the team now locked in by rule??
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 It doesn't matter, if it gives EJ a chance to make a run at playing time, then missing the friendly with Mexico is worth it.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 i hope Routledge plays. He can only turn left by turning right three times. Beats everyone on the field to the ball then sends it 20 seats up. Of course, he will likely take this opportunity to have his best game ever, learn to turn left and score in the last 2min of regulation.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 Who is KK? And you forgot BH = Brede Hangeland (technically a YA).
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 KK = Kasey Keller. You show me the last time Brede Hangelund was mentioned in a YA Gameday thread, and I'll start adding him to the thread title.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 soon the thread title will have to read CD, CB, BM, KK, EJ, BH vs. MH, BC
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 HAHA yeah after I posted it I realized my mistake. Is Kasey really back in the squad? Has he played a reserve match yet? As far as Brede goes, I don't think we get many people posting about games in Norway or Denmark, so I am not surprised.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 Why would we merge this with the fulhamerica thread? That had to do with a completely different game
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 I think he played in the same reserve match as McBride.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 Yup I realized my mistake, its too early for me!
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 born in the USA? Don't suppose he'd be eligible for the Nats? thread titles oughtta just say FulhAmerica
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic or not...but no he's not eligible. He's already played a lot for Norway's national team.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 Nope he has been capped quite a few times by Norway. But just because he isn't eligible for the Nats doesn't mean he isn't a YA. I know that people don't agree with this (i.e. Rossi), but I am pretty sure that's the rule.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 Well, I just did a search, and poor Brede has never been mentioned in the title of a YA gameday thread. I'm sure he's been mentioned in some FC Kobenhavn game threads when Jamil Fearrington was there, and I also found this: Does Brede Hangeland count as YA? EDIT: Found a couple more.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 I think I've been watching not enough non-Fulham EPL matches. I just got done watching Chelsea vs. Portsmouth which was far more entertaining than the dreck I watched when Fulham played Bolton. Fulham/Bolton wasn't even as fun to watch as the (usually disappointing) MLS games I've seen. I certainly hope Fulham shows a better game against Villa. They were lucky to get a point from Bolton but I'm hoping the new players will start to "gel" together quickly. EJ coming in late to score the winning goal ? One can dream...
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 He's actually got one or two more than that under his belt. Keller being match fit is the main reason they weren't hesitant to send Warner out on loan. Not this weak, unfortunately. EJ's not on the matchday squad... he's not even going to be in London until today, I think.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 Sometimes I do this thing where I count consecutive passes by a team in their opponent's half. I started doing it to see how crappy my team (Red Bull NY) was, but when I applied it to Fulham they weren't any better. They both had streaks of like 3 or 4. Chelsea meanwhile, can string 10 consecutive passes in their opponent's half and then score. So yeah, Fulham is definitely not the class of the EPL.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 Ya, I can't wait to watch the CCC next season either.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 But considering that both his parents are norwegian and he was only in the us for a short time wile his parents worked there. Calling him a Yank migth be takeing it a to far. I mean i spent a year in England as a kid (0-1year old) but i don`t consider myself english.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 dont hold your breath, Hogs is building a team to grind out wins. So far he has proved very shrewed in his choices, none of the players he brought in have made the team worse. Now he will play for the draw every match and maybe set EJ loose 35min per game. It will be interesting to see how Fulham play with a lead...assuming that ever happens again. They need basically 4 or 5 wins and at least 7 draws to stay up. Going to be a battle.
Re: CD, KK, CB, MCBRIDE: Fulham v. Aston Villa - 2/3 With this weekend's match results so far, there is going to be additional pressure for Fulham to get at least a point.
