Indeed! I am not sure how the loan deal works as we got him from a Championship side. We are allowed only two loanees from England but I think that is just PL sides.

More info about DJ - the deal is being reported to be worth in the region of £1.5m and he is expected to sign later today. The trouble being we have heard all this before!

And yesterday Karl Oyston, Ian Holloway and club secretary Matt Williams were all at Bloomfield Road working on signings. Today is a Bank Holiday in England but I would imagine that all three are still working on signings.

Another name to add to the list, Kyle Lafferty of Rangers.

I will be glad when this damned transfer window closes.

It will be manic tomorrow and totally ridiculous. And we will probably end up signing some players that have not even been linked with.

The Scottish Sun says Blackpool failed in a loan swoop for Lafferty last night - but Rangers are bracing themselves for a cash bid today.

Reports suggest that DJ Campbell, Matt Phillips and Mamadou Bah should sign today in the next few hours with others possibly coming too.

    Matt Phillips
Wycome Wanderers have just announced that Matt Phillips has signed for Blackpool in a move that could be worth £700,000, with an initial £350,000 being paid. Not bad for a 19-year old.

Blackpool Gazette now saying that Mamadou Bah is very likely to sign and could be the second signing of the day. An announcement is expected shortly of him signing.

If he does sign then he will probably become the 7th Blackpool player on international duty!

They also report that whilst a fee has been agreed with Leicester City, talks are still continuing with DJ Campbell and his agent over his wages and that it could go right down to the wire!

    No other news.

Apparently just the paperwork to be finalised for Mamadou Bah to be announced. There had been the issue of his lack of English. He has to pass an 'English speaking' test that is now part of the Premier League regulations. But the club are hopeful they can complete a deal.

The Gazette though reckons that he will sign for Blackpool later today.

Can't work out what is going on with DJ at all. I thought it was all sorted but talks at this late stage over wages is a bit odd.

And the latest player is now 22 year old Tunisia international Tijani Belaid. He plays for Slavia Prague and the former Inter Milan youngster has spent the past three years in the Czech Republic.

Sky Sports reckon Blackpool are one of four PL clubs hoping to sign him before 6pm.

If Bah signs then that makes four French speakers at the seaside so maybe Belaid could also want to join the French Revolution as he was born in Paris!

Under four hours to go now!

Interestingly there is no news about any departing players. I suppose there could be 1 or 2 players going out on loan, but there has been no mention of any outgoing players.

DJ and one other player apparently in the pipeline at the moment.

The Bah deal is very close but could fall through if red tape becomes a problem, grrrrrrr. It could go either way apparently right now.

    I really hate deadline day.

    Under 3 hours to go.

    • DJ Campbell will sign for Blackpool later, according to Gazette sources in Leicester.
    • Mamadou Bah deal close but having problems with 'red tape'. Could go either way.
    • Kyle Lafferty is highly unlikely.
    • David Nugent deal all but dead.
    • Stephen Dobbie and Angel Rangel interest has cooled.
    • No substance to Charlie Adam departure rumours.
    • Blackpool are hoping to sign at least one more player.

Well we need a new left-back in a lot of fans views.

However, at long last DJ Campbell is a Blackpool player. He has signed for an undisclosed fee this afternoon on a two year contract with an option for a further 12 months.

The transfer window is now closed.

The Gazette are reporting that Blackpool may have beaten the deadline and added a third signing. Will find out shortly.

Club secretary Matt Williams was desperately trying to complete a deal in time.

The rule is apparently that the documents have to arrive at Premier League HQ before 6pm. They can be processed by the PL after that.

Rumour is that the player the club are trying to get the deal for is David Nugent.

    hmmmm

OK Matt Williams has been on BBC Radio Lancashire. Two more possible signings, both of whom were at the World Cup.

One is a free agent and will have a medical tomorrow so no worries about the deadline.

The other - the paperwork was sent to the PL ONE MINUTE late, so the club are waiting to see if the PL will accept it or not!!!!

Still no idea what will happen with the player whose papers were 1-2 minutes late going to the PL, but surely they aren't going to stop him signing just for a few seconds?

All sorts of rumours about the identity of the two players and no point listing them all as so many names have been mentioned. But the free agent is due to fly into the UK tomorrow, coming in to Manchester airport before coming over to the Fylde coast for his medical.

The other player is I think a loan deal. Both players were though at the World Cup with their respective countries.

Having now listened to the BBC Radio Lancashire interview with club secretary Matt Williams the two mystery players -

Player 1. Was at the World Cup and he plays for a club in mainland Europe. Mad dash, the paperwork came through just on the stroke of 6 o'clock, which was then faxed through to the PL and the FA. The one to the FA was "bang on 6" but the one to the PL was slightly after, so the club have asked them to look on it favourably.

Player 2. Another who was at the World Cup, flying in for his medical on Wednesday morning. Personal terms will get finalised in the next couple of days.

In addition they may add another couple of players who are out of contract, so basically free agents, as even though the transfer window is now shut, it does not apply to players without club's.

Matt also revealed how desperate DJ has been all summer to "come home" to Blackpool. He loves Blackpool and has wanted to return but for one reason or another the deal has not gone through. But DJ has even managed to get the apartment he was previously renting, so he will just go straight back living there. He is apparently very happy to finally be a permanent Blackpool player.

Player 1's name has been confirmed and he isn't North Korean!!!!!

Australian international left-back David Carney has agreed to come to Bloomfield Road and the Seasiders were trying to tie up the loose ends this afternoon, after the transfer deadline.

He iw set to sign a one-year contract with an option for a further 12 months, but any deal needs to be ratified by the PL before it can be signed off.

Still trying to find out about the other player.

David Carney is also now officially a Blackpool player. He joins from Dutch champions FC Twente on a one year contract with an option for a further 12 months.

Carney flew into the UK on Tuesday afternoon to complete a medical and paperwork before then heading off to Switzerland to meet up with the Austalia squad for their game in St Gallen on Friday.

    Matt Williams explained:

    Carney said:

The 2nd player would appear to be Ghana international goalkeeper Richard Kingson, who was released by Wigan Athletic at the end of last season.

Richard Kingson has now officially joined the Seasiders.

He has signed a one year contract with an option for a further 12 months. The move is subject to a work permit and the usual FA and PL clearance and was completed on Wednesday afternoon.
