Boyd attempts an overhead pass to himself in the offensive box. Two defenders clatter into him and Boyd is called for a handball when it was not near his hand. Dunno.

0-0 full time. Considering marking my calendar to not watch the second leg.

Off a corner, Boyd has a header saved off the line, then has a follow-up shot well blocked by an alert defender.

Boyd attemps backheel finish of a bounced cross that would have been on the permanent highlight reel for Kaiserslautern had it gone in instead of missing by six yards.

Boyd and Becker go up for a header and Becker comes down hurt for a bit, but the weird part is that Becker was the one with his elbow up, not Boyd. Becker potential concussion check has he may have conked his own head on Boyd's. Meanwhile, match appears stopped for a Dresden player to get his ankle wrapped - I'm not sure what rule is allowing for the associated delay.

In this low-opportunities two-legged snoozefest, Boyd has actually looked like the most likely FCKer to score, with Konigsdorffer the most dangerous for Dresden. But the attacks have just been lame in general.

Damn. Well taken header by Boyd off of a coner kick forces a diving save by Broll. Textbook header, hard, down away from keeper. Just not quite good enough.

KAISERSLAUTERN SCORE 60th minute - end to end in four passes, with excellent Wundlerlich touch to tee it up for Hanslik just inside the box, with space to beat keeper low to the near post, and he hits it. Boyd uninvolved. 1-0, 1-0 aggregate.

Lautern Score! Terrence not involved but would’ve been right there for a rebound

Boyd 1 v 2 breakaway, gets run off of the ball trying to beat both. Dresden finally playing with offensive urgency instead of just defensive urgency, forced a good save and two good defender blocks in quick succession before conceding that counter.

Are they using the away goals tiebreaker?

Historically, they have used the away goals tiebreaker in this match. Not clear to me if that has changed.

Yuck. Redondo attracts the defense on a counter and plays across the middle to Boyd, who misses the top corner when he had a lot more goal to aim at. Nightmares about that one if they don't win.

Let the celebrations begin! And now Dresden supporters being Dresden supporters……. Littering the pitch with flares and fireworks in frustration of relegation. Two small fires, presumably a burnt banner, has broken out and play is currently halted in stoppage time.

Great shift by Boyd. He's a big reason the Red Devils reached the 2BL.

After a six minute fireworks delay, the graphics guy still doesn't have the score right. Someone throws a flare right into the course of play while FCK attack and Boyd lays off a pass to set up a Redondo shot.

Yes, he was. Kaiserslautern made a shrew deal to get him to K-Town so they could push for promotion. I think they were barely outside the playoffs when he came over. Boyd was a big signing that really showed the 3.Liga they were serious about promotion. It will be really nice to see Boyd and K-Town back in the 2BL. Amazing supporters and Boyd still has plenty left.

He had a great game. Did he ever thin of playing as a CB? I think he would a class defender as well.

    He's 31. Don't think he's changing positions.

8 goals and 1 assist in 13 league games is an excellent return in any league and suggests that he's too good for that division.

They'll keep him on for next season - he's only 31 - and if he can help stabilize the club in BL2, that'll be a good finale to what's been a more than decent career
