I've noticed that, there have several threads that have been on the verge of being hijacked by others wanting to discuss the qualities of several players on the Seleccion. The topic usually been who's better between Vela and Gio, or Gio vs Nery, or Nery vs Arellano, Nery vs Guardado. So why not discuss it here. questions to answer: 1. Who has the biggest upside? 2. Who's faster, with and with out the ball? 3. Who has the best vision? 4. Who's the best finisher? 5. Who has the 'IT" factor? 6. Who will be the STAR, the face of the Seleccion? IMO....I believe that the guy with the MOST up-side has got to be Gio. Sure he hasn't played but, we know he's explosive, we also know he can shoot. He can dribble and when used properly is also very creative ( Canada game ). I have No idea who's fastest, but from what I've seen, Guardado seems fast, but than again so is Arellano. Best vision, seems to be a toss up between Guardado and Vela. Guardao has consistently shown he has the vision to be a threat, problem is, so has everyone else in Concacaf and South America. Vela when played on the Left wing showed his stuff in Spain, he also has shown his stff at Arsenal pairing with The Dane Bentner. Finishing ability.....Vela, Nery and Arellano have shown some sick finishing skill. Can I call a 3 way tie?.......lol The 'IT' factor and the Face of the Seleccion. On the one hand I want to mold these two after Blanco. After all, he STILL has that factor and he was the face of La Verde for many years. Than again, so was Jorge Campos, and El Matador. To some extent Morales as well. Many pundits and fans used him as an example of Mexican soccer. short players with speed and ball skills. The Face of La Verde...quien sera. I don't know....I don't see any of these being it. Maybe someone else will step up. Your thoughts..............
Nery and Arellano are the fastest without the ball. Gio is the most explosive like he showed in the Canada game out running the defense. Vela, Nery, and Guardado are all fast with the ball.
OK...Guardado seems to be the answer, but does he have the 'IT' factor? 3 years from now who's going to the the face of the team? Who's going to be the star? That's what I want to find out.
If he doesn't die or have any serious injury, then Guardado. Otherwise, Magallon since Marquez will be nearing the exit.
