If you've come to this thread by mistake then piss off. This is an Ohio thing. So my Dad is watching the Bengals. I don't like it. We've always been Browns fans. He might as well support Man U and stab me in the back. Ohio or not the Bengals is a Northern Ky/Cincy team. How can he do this to me?
Yeah my brothers pulling the same crap. He's all supporting Cincy now...Not that I give a hoot about American Football in the first place, but I know how it is. Bandwagoneers suck.
In Columbus, I've noticed that its about a 60-40 split. Most people follow the Browns, while a good minority follow the Bengals. Give the Bengals fans a break. For the average fan, the last 13 or so years have been hard. Hell, in that time I've even started following the Colts (note that going to college an hour away from Indy helped that decision). The Bengals-Browns matchup is not like ManU-Whoever. It is, for the most part, a friendly rivalry because both teams are rarely good enough to have the matchup be meaningful. Steelers, on the other hand, simply piss me off.
Yeah, but the Eagles have had at least one winning season in a decade and a half. Don't forget, the Eagles have a GM that is better than Jimmy Boy. Like I said, being a Bengals fan is hard. Try to give us the benefit of the doubt when the team is still competitive in December.
Also, lets face it. The Reds decided that they don't need to field a competitive team anymore cause they have a new stadium. And Bob Huggins is an *#*#*#*#*#*#*#. So all they got is the Bengals.
The Corperate Welfare, err, National Football League is a multibillion dollar a year business, whose employees are amoung the top of all income earners in the U.S. Yet, if not for close to a billion dollars in direct subsidies by local at state government, there would be no NFL teams in Ohio. The way the NFL has treated us, it boggles my mind that anyone would still be interested in this violent, militaristic, litigious and dare I say boring bastardization of real football. I say shun those teams that take our taxes. I say shun those teams that have held us hostage, and played on our emotions to extort from us our limited public resources. I say support only those teams that pay their own way. Let's go 'Jackets, and LET'S GO CREW! This is my reply, and this too is an Ohio thing.
@#%^ Cleveland. I hate the nasty ass city and the stupid people that live there. Cincy ain't much better either.
God Bless OHIO! what your father doing is wrong dead wrong. 1)Tha Bungles should have never come into existance if it was for the devil himself(Art Model) Getttin rid of Paul Brown. 2)Cincy not apart of Ohio anyway that has to be the capital of Kentucky(I'm guessing by there accents and rednecks as I speed through that God awful town. 3)Cleveland should ,has been and always will be the best thing Ohio has going for even God loves the Cleveland Browns,Oh yeah OSU not bad either. 4)How is it that OSU is located in the C-bus that city isn't that should be destroyed also,05 Cleveland the Crew has been sent a warning. Only in Ohio can you find so much love so close to home!
