First off I declare the Beat v Spirit rivalry DEAD for 2003. Apparently Beat fans are closet Spirit fans. Too much fraternazation between the two groups of fans. Beat v Courage --- Prinz v Nonen. Nuff said. Beat v Freedom --- Well there was that one game I boycotted that many have said was the best WUSA game to ever be played. Beat/Freedom v Philly --- 2001 and 2002 semifinals. Apparently those have left a nasty taste in Charge Fan's mouth. Courage v Freedom --- FC2...ehhh.... Others? I WISH I could list Cyberrays v Spirit but no one gives a rat's ass about my California Cup. Well whatever the winner is....it's gonna be one that includes either the Beat or Charge since those have the two sets of fans that everyone hates the most.
The original is still the best Beat vs. CyberRays. Do two teams (and two sets of fans) hate each other more???
Re: The original is still the best I think nearly all non-Beat fans hate the Beat. -- In my house, it's NY vs SJ. Hehehe. Elsewhere, hmm....
Re: Re: The original is still the best unjustly of course jealous of hoopers skills (if need be, we can continue this in rivalry) edit (perhaps this should be moved to rivalry)
Re: Re: Re: The original is still the best It doesn't have to be justified. That's the nature of rivalry in sports.
How is Beat v Cyberrays the "original"? I always thought the original WUSA rivalry was Beat v Spirit as a result of what happened in El Paso, Texas during the 2001 preseason and it just festerved like a bad genital wart from then on. But like I said before I think it's died down considerably. ----------------------- I did think about starting this up in the infamous Rivalry forum but it's sooooooo tame over there. It really would have made no difference.
Hmmmmm... this is a toughie for me. However, for me, it really has nothing to do with the fans. Yeah, I hate the chodes' rantings, but I actually like the Charge and I like the Beat fans, but I hate Hooper and Stone, soooo... I think the Beat/Courage game is THE game though, in terms of player rivalries. Although any Beat/Power game might run a close second (Millie & Nonen - I need say no more..) The Beat/Courage game really made my blood boil. The Beat's thugishness was getting to me, but in retrospect... heh, heh, heh... you GO, girls! LOL! I realized I disliked the Courage more than the Beat. I actually LIKE the Beat, although I will never like Pooper and StoneAge. My dislike for those two colored my view of the Beat for a long time. The Beat players were probably the nicest away team that came through NY. They spent more time in autograph alley than the Power did! LOL! (well, almost) I really wish we (NY) still had Fettig too. She's a lot happier down there, but with Farmer and Co. gone, she'd probably be way happier now. It's hard to totally hate the Courage with her on the team. (Why can't I ever give a one sentence answer like the rest of you do?? :l )
Think what you want, but the spirit fans will always hate the beat. You know the lights are gonna go down in georgia this year, anyway. Go Spirit! I think the Breakers should be officially considered the wuss team, considering no one hates them.
Re: Re: Re: The original is still the best yeah I just loooooved when Hoop broke Brandi's nose..that was a nice move
