I'm coming up from Richmond for the Chivas game on sunday (with two young kids) and was wondering what the best way to RFK would be. I'm planning on taking the metro in from Springfield to Stadium/Armory. Should I drive the whole way in? Any suggestions?

First game since the 96 season. I was hoping to see Fred in action but oh well.

It would probably be easier for you (esp. with 2 small kids) to drive in, the whole way, to Lot 8. It will cost $12.00 to park, but with 3 of you, that may be cheaper than the round-trip Metro fare.

As you head north on 95, just keep heading north on 395. As soon you get on the 14th Street Bridge (the Pentagon will have been on your left), stay in the 2nd to the left lane. As you get to the far side of the bridge, stay in your lane & bear to the right to follow 395N.

Stay in that lane until after a couple of merges, coming in from the left. As you pass a big building on your left with a large mural (advertisement), get in your far left lane and stay there. That will take you right in to Lot 8.

After the game, leaving is just as easy. Exit the same way you came in. When you get on 395S, stay on 395S and follow that to 95S.

When i go to RFK, from Richmond.

take 95 north to 395 which will dead end into the RFK parking lot.

having had problems myself getting to a sunday game.

I would give yourself 4 hours going up though.
I was late a couple of times giving myself 3 hours, have also been an hour early.

Nope. Wrong, wrong, wrong!!! I told a friend who was meeting me for the US vs Panama game back in 2004 the same thing. I told him, "just get on 395 and follow it to the end and you'll end up in lot 8."

If you follow the signs for 395 and go to the end, you'll end up on New York Avenue and by the time you find your way to RFK, it'll be Tuesday morning.

If you can play wing, keep going past Lot 8, drive through the "tunnel" and into Lot 4 report to the 2nd locker room on your right.

I must first stop in Lot 8 prior to building the confidence that I can play wing. Actually, if I stop in Lot 8 for long enough and am properly hydrated, I feel that I can do anything.
