I’m sitting in section 239 for the game today. I won’t be wearing US colors and may well even where green (sorry). I’m at the Galeria Reforma Hotel. I speak Spanish reasonably well and am a 64 year old gringo. I can pass for French in a pinch as it’s my second language.

I plan on taking the metro from Insurgentes and then the tren liguero to Azteca. So far so good.

I’m at a loss for my exit strategy. Do I just reverse my trip. Will that be safe if things don’t go well for Mexico? Do I walk somewhere and try for an Uber? Do I just wait 30 minutes and then try for an Uber? Do I take the light train for a stop or two and then try for an Uber?

Any specific advice is appreciated. Gracias!

It will be safe but very crowded. Also, make sure to buy your return tren ligero ticket ahead of time.

I did it four times: once alone, three times with others; two ties, two Mexico victories.
