I don't know how no one has posted this before...(if i'm mistaken, my apologies) http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/features/2003/movies/news/2003/03/26/theyre_no1/
They don't have Endless Summer as the best surfing movie or Pumping Iron as the best bodybuilding movie? They be smokin' da crack.
How Grand Prix got the nod over the far superior Death Race 2000, I'll never understand. Bigtime snubbing there.
And if The Big Lobowski counts as a Bowling movie, then how on earth did The Royal Tennenbaums not take home the prize for Best Tennis Movie?
I agree with the dissenting opinion on the baseball movie.....The Natural was the best one I've ever seen.
funny how one has expressed an opinion on soccer's choices.....Having watched just one of them, i exclude myself from any opinion
I take that to mean they got that one right. Victory is indeed one fine movie. Much better than any other I'm aware of (or are at least thinking of.)
Any Indians fan can appreciate Major League....yes, the Tribe was that bad and probably worse. I mean, we're talking about a team that had to have 10-cent beer night to put asses in the seats. The anti-soccer peeps can say all they want, but MLS hasn't had to do THAT yet! Blue Chips as a contender?!?! That movie sucked! As for football....hello!? Where's The Program!?!? That focused more on football than Jerry Maguire did! JM should be under "sports agent" but then we could package all the eps of Arli$$ into a giant movie and have them duke it out. Of course, they ruined The Program by taking out the "lay in the middle of the road for team bonding" scene...luckily I saw the unedited version. The Mighty Ducks? Can you say 90-minute informercial for a Disney?
