I take into consideration different rankings for league seasons and impact at international level (club and country).
To be labeled in a certain position, a X player could played regularly and in a good level there.
In case of similar level, i favoured players from smaller nations to reflect more diversity.
At the end is just an opinion.

    Good calls.
I have them in a bonderline group, so not much difference with the players listed, imho.
If i included them, the candidates to be named out will be (DM/WG):
The last one (Rincón/Vargas) or for staying the diversity, any of the big guns (Biglia, Sandro / Nene, A.Fernandez)

Very good list. I'll talk a little about Brazilian football.

Fernando Prass was well in Vasco da Gama and now in Palmeiras, but there are better goalkeepers. Fabio has been consistent for many years and was the best goalkeeper in the 2010 and 2013 Brasileirão. Cavalieri was crucial to the Fluminense's victory in 2013. In my personal opinion, the best one in recent years was Jefferson, who is now on the list of 23 of Brazil. Jefferson plays for Botafogo and and the club has not achieved good results in recent years. So Jefferson is not seen as he should. He is fantastic. And there's Victor, who became an idol in Atletico Mineiro in 2013 and also was called by Scolari.

I think Andrés D'Alessandro has been a clearly superior to Montillo in recent years. Darío Conca was superb during the 2010 Brasileirão, but then he went to China, so I think he should not be on the list, but deserves a mention. I think Paulo Henrique Ganso also deserves a *. It is frustrating to see that he did not become the player we all expected, but he still had a good year in 2010 - he was highly recommended to be in the 2010 World Cup, ahead of Neymar - and few good moments in 2011 and 2012.

In the case of Gargano vs DMs.
I think his 2012/13 season in Inter hurts his ranking. Meanwhile, Cambiasso and Diego Pérez had more consistent seasons (also in Serie-A). The same with Sandro and Biglia (even playing in a small league).
Arevalo Rios and Christian Riveros had similar performances at club level, but they had better performances than Gargano at NT, imho.
Something similar for Rincón (even a bit inferior at club level), but better impact at NT. So, at the end i chose the venezolan to show more diversity. A top-10 DM is enough, i guess.
    What do you think?

In the case of Maxi Rodriguez vs WGs.
I think his two seasons in Liverpool were decent at best and then a good 2012/13 season in Newells.
Lucas Moura and Jefferson Montero were irregulars but have a better impact than Maxi, imho.
Nene had better seasons (esp. his first two in PSG), even playing in a mid league.
Augusto Fernandez had a bit better 1 Argentine season and two at La Liga, imho.
Beausejour had an inferior performance at club level, but compensate being a starter and important player in his NT. Vargas, similar to the chilean, even he impressed more in the Copa America.
I see not much difference between them, so i selected both to show more diversity.

At the end, i don't find so much fun, picking only brazilians and argentines.
So at similar level, i prefer players from mid/smaller nations.

I would add Marcelo Diaz, specially for 2011 were his team won the Copa Sudamericana. At the same time he started being a starter in the national team ahead of players. Also that performance got him transferred to Europe.

Not disagree totally, but I feel Gargano is better than Bigila and Sandro overall.

He was off of my radar. Can you give more info about his performance in this period and individual awards earned?

Thanks for your comments, mate. Here are some ideas.

For the overall performances i take DbsCalcio ratings (2011 & 2012), missing 2010. Also Bola de Prata awards, recent caps (didn't see a clearly starter here) and some full matches.

Fernando Prass had a consistent and better ratings than Fabio (i like him, esp. in big matches) in the period 2010-2012. Except for 2010 season without ratings, but Fabio won Bola de Prata that year. Prass also won it in 2011, but there's not much difference among top-5 GKs.
    http://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bola_de_Prata_de_2011

Cavalieri, the 2012 winner, seems to have the best year among all GKs, but i feel he had a poor 2011 year.
Jefferson seems to had a bit better 2012 year than Prass, but a bit lower 2011 year.
For Victor seems to had lower ratings than Prass, especially in the 2011 year.

Since, the Brasilerao 2013 is out of this period, maybe it differs with the final WC roster.

Resuming, i think there's no much difference among the keepers mentioned (looks like a good era for brazilian goalies, btw). I appreciate your first-hand opinion, about overall performance week-in week-out in this period, also intangible as the skillset, leadership and impact.

So i can agree naming Jefferson in place of Prass.

Well, he started to shine with Sampaoli, who was the coach back then. He was a starter and the main engine in the Universidad de Chile team who won the 2011 Copa Sudamericana, with a record for best performance in the cup so far, being undefeated. He was the second most influential player after Eduardo Vargas. Same year, U de Chile also won the championship. He was transferred to Europe, and now he is a starter in the chilean national team and is considered, along with Medel, the most important player for the coach in the national team, ahead of players like Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez.

I checked his rating in Swiss season and don't impress me really.
It possible he increased his level since 2013 (out of this period)?
btw, which players do you consider inferior to M.Diaz in his position for this era?

I agree D'Alessandro and Conca had a great 2010 season.
But according dbscalcio, it seems that Montillo had a bit better (6,75) Brasilerao 2011 than D'Alessandro (6,53) and Conca (6,41).
And definitively a better 2012 season than both at domestic level.
Since the NT performance don't make the difference. Arguably the intl. club matches does?

Ganso don't make my list, because he played less than 50% Brasilerao matches in any year. Still a quality player.

    What's your thoughts, mate?

He is a David Pizarro type player, he doesnt add assists or goals, just starts the play along with defending. Since that era, at least in the national team, he is more important than David Pizarro, Charles Aranguiz and even Arturo Vidal.

BTW, great list. A small correction though, Mauricio Isla is a winger/right midfield.

I had Isla playing regularly in three positions: right mid(winger), central mid and even fullback. Correct if 'im wrong.
Just thought that he hardly will make the winger list.
