Forgive me, but my Spanish is really bad( though I can read it much better than I can write it), so I'm just post this in English:

It really sucks with the Euro-bias as far as referee's. Moreno may not be a good ref, but he was far from the worst thing from WC2002, yet he is the ref you hear the most about. The Spanish ref that did Germany-Cameroon was far worse, and the various linesman including the British guy from Italy-Korea were worse. I think Dallas' lack of a handball call in Germany-USA was worse than Moreno's 2nd yellow on Totti in the late stages of extra time and yet he somehow makes that list.

I just got back from Guayaquil and I don't remember seeing anything about Moreno running for any political office, but I did eat in a little Italian place run by a guy from Roma. On the menu was pasta de Byron Moreno. I didn't sample it because I figured he'd spit in it or something.

I saw Barcelona - El Nacional in Mid-December. Barcelona blew it. We are there every Christmas and I usually get to see at least one end of the season match.

My wife is from Guayaquil and her entire family are Barcelona supporters, so I had to become one to survive :)

Need to be more specific, I'm from Guayaquil (a "mono" should never be confused with a "serrano"... though it would be an honor for a "serrano" to be taken as a "mono" :D).

Maybe mistaken for a smelly 'mono' :)

And don't you mean 'longo' instead of 'serrano' :D

No 'serrano' is just fine, 'longo' is a little too much for my polite language :p
