HELP! I have a 7 year old who is addicted to soccer and video games. He wants a soccer game for his Playstation 2 for Chanukah. I have never played a playstation game of any kind (ever!), so I don't know what the best thing is. I've read on another thread the opinions on FIFA 2004 and WE, and the games sound pretty complicated - would it be too much for a 7 year old (he is pretty bright)? Any other possibilities?

    Thanks in advance! :)

let him play outside. that's the best for him. but if you still want to get a soccer game for him, just get we. even though it's complicated, your son will be better off playing we than playing garbage like fifa and learning wrong football. fifa is for idiots. we is for smart ones. i believe your son is the latter.

Go with FIFA. While I agree that WE is more realistic, the learning curve is far greater. FIFA isn't as bad as some people say it is. Actually, it's quite fun. It has all the real teams and players, which may not be as important to some of the posters on this site, but could be a lot more fun for your son. The learning curve is not as steep and your son can choose not to learn the more difficult play mechanics and still have fun. It's not like laying FIFA will teach your son bad soccer, as it's just a game. But it may teach him about all the storied clubs of Europe and South America:)

    Have fun, and happy Chanukah
