Can't say that anyone is as clearly the second best as Cristiano is the best. Near future though, would probably have to go with Isco (and probably Bale when he signs). Also, the list you came up with is pretty weird imo. I mean, it lacks players like Ramos and Varane while it includes a player like Kaka.
Right now: Ozil, Kaka, Di Maria, Benzama, and of course Cassilas We'll see how Isco and Bale will perform soon in next months
I didn't think a defender, except a really, really good one could really affect a game that much from defending that he's considered the second best.
You're again, missing most of my point, taking a little bit of it, and then changing it's context, effectively putting words into my mouth.
I'm gonna go ahead and leave out CR7 and also Bale, we all know they're great and the "starts" but I think ISCO will be Madrids most important player. He's fantastic.
Has nothing to do with where he is from I just dont think Isco is better than any of the players I listed. Cronaldo, Di Maria, Modric to me are clearly better Varane as a defender is better than Isco as an attacking player. Benzema is iffy i could put isco at fifth over benzema but benzema has done it and been there for longer so he deserve the spot. []__[]
^ Too much credit for Varane, imo. Great player sure, but Madrid's third or fourth best? Nah. Not yet anyway. I'm not even sure he is better than Sergio Ramos.
He only just turned 20 and he's already a top centre back. He's got more than a decade of top - level football left in him assuming he doesn't get plagued by injuries and such. To not even have him in your top five us ludicrous.
Yep, he has a bright future ahead of him etc, but we're talking about "right now". Of course he is very good already, though.
Real Madrid's best player beside Cristiano Ronaldo is non other than Xabi Alonso. Period. It's not all about, goals, flair, "name" sometimes it's about simplicity and sacrifice. What Xabi does for the team is exceptional. He controls the game flow, supports the attack, and most importantly supports the defense with endless runs and tackles. He is truly Madrids captain on the field of play in terms of moving the team. He does not get enough credit. IMO Que viva el Tolosarra !
