Ronaldhino. He is the best player in the world now, he is still young, and he could potentially get better.

Adriano will be the best striker in the world for years to come.

Ronaldinho is the best midfielder in the world right now and will continue to get better.

I know this may be blasphemy but I think Kaka will be a better "player" than Ronaldinho.

I agree with these two posts, the others are pretty much know throughout football.

    R. Babel – Ajax
    F. Torres – A Madrid -
    A. Iniesta - Barcelona (Better than Cesc Fabregas)
Cesc Fabregas – Arsenal - 17 year old wonderkid wow
    F. Adu – DC United - Just 16, amazing player with great technique and flair!
Robihno – Santos most know him already
    H. Rodallega – Colombian (sp?)
    Kerlon – Brazilian (Cruziero sp?)
    Fernandinho - Atletico Paranaense
    L. Messi - Barcelona (as one poster already mentioned)

Just watch the U-20 World Cup that starts this weekend in the Nederlands for a glimpse into the future…

I'd put my money on the best player in the world in 5 years being one of Rooney, Kaka or Cristiano Ronaldo...

they are all very very good and very very young and they all bring different things to the table, but essentially play the same position when used properly... the roving support striker... Ronaldinho's best there too imo, is this a trend? Are the best talents being used in the same way or is it that this position allows for players to exhibit their skills better?

im with you on P. Cannavaro and Kompany... Gila too... Robinho, not so much... i just think he's going to be one of those flash in the pan types... I've not seen enough of Messi (any at all), but if I listen to Barca fans, Pele will have to unretire to rescue his reputation. Although, I really dont think someone who's not even getting first team minutes now, will be the best in the world in a few years... unless u mean 10.

Cesc Fabregas, he is already world class and he can only get better. He could be one of the best two way midfielders ever!

Already world class? That's a pretty big statement. I mean he doesn't even start regularly for the Arse. I think he has a lot of potencial and is well on is way to being a very class player, but already world class??? No way.

Actually with Gilberto and Edu injured for much of the season, he did start quite regularly.

No, he is not the best player in the world now, there is no true standout. There are several players that standout including Ronaldinho,Ballack, Lampard and Gerrard, but neither of them actually stand out above the rest.

Actually, Ronaldinho stands out above all of them.

Above those mentioned, probably. But not above Shevchenko, Henry.
