The Red Bulls have an "All Time First 11" contest going on. Go vote for your favorites.

    Red Bull's All-Time First XI

Better yet, spend the hour like I did and watch the individiual highlight vids for to relive some of our better days. By the end, I was saluting our teams over the years with a solid Jersey fist pump.

this is very well done. they make you do a 3-4-3..really hard to leave Gio off...if Mathis could be in the midfield I'd put all 4 out there.

    Altidore, Angel, Mathis
    DVB, Djorkaeff, Guevara, Donadoni
    Jolley, Petke, Parke
    Howard

Same, except I put Ramos instead of Stammler.

I know, I know, there were a couple of ways I coulda gone over Stammler. But I played golf with him once, and he really is a great guy, so I'm giving him the nod.

I must say, the biggest surprise was that Reyna wasn't in the list.

In the midfiled I really had a hard time narrowing it down to 4 of VDB, El Lobo, Tab, Donadoni and Youri. I don't think you can go wrong with any 4 of that group.

The only real suprise for me among the nominees was Goldwaithe. Huh?!

Damn, I forgot how exciting Faria was to watch back then. 1996 may not have had the talent of today but the effort and enthusiasm was certainly there.

    I miss the B&W jerseys from 1996.

Yeah, it was a tough call for me because I really loved watching Jozy. But I had to go with Gio, Cleetus and Juan Pablo.

I also had a hard time between Pope and Parke, but figured that Parke was more a metro than Pope (due to the number of other teams he played for.)

It was hard not finding a spot for Woly. Petke and Jolly were no brainers.

But, like I said, silly contest and voting aside, I loved watching the player's highlight vids. Brought back some seriously great memories.
