This is for nicknames for Sports stars. Good ones IMO Earvin "Magic" Johnson. I.M. Hipp of Nebraska football fame. The "Mailman" Karl Malone. "Mr. Clutch" Jerry West.

    Others?

I thought "I.M. Hipp" was actually his real name, not a nickname ...

    YES!

Plus he named all his dunks! That guy was the most entertaining player ever. It had nothing to do with his play but he was funny as hell. Not to mention he used to live 2 blocks away from me.

The Latin American football players all seem to have nicknames such as "The invisible wall" (Gilberto Silva) and "The little rabbitt" (Javier Saviola).

I was just thinking about what he said to Frank de Ford on Real Sports. Regarding racist hiring practices in the NBA coaching ranks. At first I didn't go along with that line of thinking, even in spite of the George Karl example. Then the Hornets fired Paul Silas (winning record) and hired Tim Floyd (worst winning percentage in the history of the four major sports) and suddenly that doesn't sound so absurd.

This is not his nickname, but rather his official name, which makes it even more entertaining:
Creedence Clearwater Couto is a reserve forward for Brazilian side Guarani FC.
