Got a yearning to kick some Nazi ass. Anyone recomend a good WWII video game? Not any of the ones you play online vs other peeps tho. Maybe a bit more strategy than shooter too.

    First person shooters
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (best single player)
    Battlefield 1942 (mostly multiplayer)
Day of Defeat mod for Half-life (all multiplayer)
    Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Prisoner of War is an adventure game.
Sudden Strike II is a real time strategy game.
more than 50% of the war game out there are based on WWII.
Few good sims are based on WWII, IL-2 Sturmovik is a very good fly sim.

The company that made Soldiers at War went under, but they were awesome. Aeriel view. Company v company. Units can lie and wait to ambush oncoming opponents, essentially what a role playing game is, without the hassle of dice and other crap like dat.

The best titles from that series: Bridge Too Far, Russian Front, Normandy (2nd version). Battle of the Bulge was a good one, but if you choose the Americans/Allies, and you raise the difficulty settings, you are in for a very tough campaign.

Varying modes of play, single battle, operation ( a series of battles), or the full "grand" campaign.

Also, you can go to a gaming zone, and play other peeps. My buddy did that a little too frequently and other gaming zone peeps stopped playing against him cuz he'd win the battle handily before time expired EVERY TIME.

Fun game. Maybe a bit dated aesthetically for today's standards, but fun all the same.
