Who has the best jersey/trikot in Germany?

2002-03 season: Gladbach home; and TSV 1860 away.

Any season: Hertha's navy/white hoops jersey from 3 or 4 years ago (Adidas; Die Continentale is the shirt sponsor); and Fortuna Duesseldorf's from I think last year (red/white hoops with that rock band as shirt sponsor/skull and crossbones).

Maybe Mike or some other mod can move the jersey related posts from the 2.Bundesliga promotion thread in here

    Eintracht Braunschweig away.
I fear that my Eintracht worshiping becomes very predictable.

Can't say I've seen their Trikot, are they in the Zweiteliga?

My choice would be 1860 away.

i can say i am a proud owner of such a shirt- this past oktoberfest despite being well over served, i remembered to make that important purchase.

waking up in time to see them beat hertha 1-0, is another matter though.

Can you buy Jever in the US? I've never seen it.

Bayern's away is OK, but a little too non-descript. Bayern now has two jerseys which seem to bear little relation to their actual team colors (the away is white and a dark gray; the home is a maroon and a charcoal gray). Give me their CL unis (the red ones) anytime.

My pick for worst BL uniform this season: Dortmund's hideous yellow and black pajamas.

Worst in recent memory: Bochum's "rainbow" shirts.

What German beers can you buy in the US in general? I always found Beck's but nothing else (which is not bad, because Beck's is my number one and in the US I bought American beer anyway).

Hertha and 1860 got the best jerseys this season IMO

Here's what I'm sure I've seen at beer distributors: Beck's; St. Pauli Girl; Dortmunder; Dinkel Acker; Warsteiner; Erdinger; Lowenbrau; Spaten; Hofbrauhaus; Franziskaner; Hacker-Pschorr; Paulaner; Gilde; Broyhan; Bitburger; and Ayinger. There may be others that I'm not recalling or not sure of.

As for US beers, I hope you were drinking micros and not macros (Bud, Miller, Coors, etc.). Lots of good microbrews out there (and some bad ones as well). A couple favorites are Victory's Prima Pils and Pennsylvania Brewing Company's Penn Gold.

Take a look at www.stpauligirl.com. St. Pauli Girl is, per my understanding, brewed by the same company that makes Beck's. In any event, it's a popular pseudo-premium import in the US.

Don't remember all names, but Bud, Miller or Coors can be bought here as well, so I did not try that in the USA. I remember Red Hook, some beer from Alaskan Frontier (?) and Molson Ice (bigger Canadian brand, I know - but it was good), and there were some more I don't remember yet.

you can get Jever in the U.S.---when I was living in Annapolis you could even get the full green plastic Kisten instead of the cardboard boxes we usually get. Also, at my local market were Schneider Weisse and Erdinger. One thing I can say in favor of globalization...it's made it easier to get good German bier in america!!

Best Trikot: FC St. Pauli! Why? Because they have a skull and crossbones on the back directly underneath the collar! White away and Brown at home (this season at least...)

Jever - yes, it's available in the States but only from a few places. In DC, you can get it on tap at Marx Cafe in Mount Pleasant and in bottles at the Brickskeller. Also available in the six pack from Dupont Minimart on 18th and "S" Streets. Go to www.jever.de for fun and games and I believe a listing of bars that carry it...

Jever is horrible. And now that we've got that out of the way: I may be biased but i have to say that I love the Schwarz auf Gelb of the Alemannia away the best. Next best are the baby blue 1860's, and that's not just 'cause Loewenbaeu is way better than Jever.

You can buy them from the clubs' websites; Bayern, Stuttgart, Hertha, Gladbach and Wolfsburg all are US-delivery friendly. You can get players' names and numbers, or have customized shirts made as well. Bayern's and Hertha's sites have an English language option, and Stuttgart used to and still might have that option. I can vouch for Gladbach's shopping site insofar as ordering jerseys with names/numbers.

You can also try www.soccerplus.net, who have a good selection of German Jerseys (some 2002-03, others from previous seasons). They have a much more limited selection of players' names and numbers, but shipping is only about 1/5 as much.

Bigsoccer.com's store has a few German trikots. I've also ordered from Kicker's on-line site without problems. www.kicker.de

The most popular beer in Munich is Augustiner. It is also mine. Very popular in Munich are Paulaner, Erdinger and Andechs.

My favourite jersey, of course, is Bayern Munich Away.

Yes. While the site is in German, I can't remember if they have an English Language version. It was quite easy and shipping was surprisingly cheap. I've ordered from the UK before and those Brits charge an arm, leg and all the money in your bank account for shipping...The Germans were very reasonable, especially because it was the only location I could find that took Credit Cards for St. Pauli jersey's a few years ago...
