The end of the year is less than 2 months away so its time to put on your thinking caps and look back and list the candidates for the best metal album of 2004. I will start with: This one would be on most everyones list for candidate for best metal album of '04.
another great candidate: That's right a heavy metal concept album based on the novel "Moby Dick". Absolutely brilliant.
I haven't heard to many new albums this year, but from what i've heard the new Exodus and Saxon seem to be excelent (*waits for someone to tell Alex_K how cheesy Saxon are* ).
Mastodon ********ing shreds. Their last one, "Remission", was really, really good, too. I also have to mention "The End of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage. "Tempo of the Damned" by Exodus and "Blast Tyrant" by Clutch were also nice releases this year. I also liked Machine Head's "Through the Ashes of Empires" more than their previous couple albums, where they sort of experimented with rap metal. I hate singling out one CD as "best."
