Ok, here's a prediction thread with a practical application (at least for me).

I have midterm exams over the next 2 weeks, as such I'm restricting the number of group matches that I watch (they run from 2-7am over here). I've decided 3 nights of football are going to be my max.

I've already decided on watching the Denmark-Sweden game - what do you guys reckon will be the other top games before the quarters?

I agree, except I'd say Germany - Czech Rep., which is likely to be a decisive match in the 3rd round, instead of Germany-Holland.

Germany-Holland is arguably the biggest rivalry in Europe. This is a huge game.

I know Germany - Holland is huge, after all, it was the 88 semifinal of EURO and 74 WC final. Right now it looks like Holland can't get Van Nistelrooj and Kluivert to gel together and the team looks discouraged. Germany... well not impressing anybody lately. So, I don't think that will be as good as it's hyped. Hopefully I'm wrong and the tradition of the match will kick start the spirit of both teams and it'll be great, like a 3-3 or some score with half-dozen goals. Who knows?

If after watching Germany -Holland and you thought that was a good game (given their historic rivalry), i think i'll stick with somoa vs vanuatu!?!?!

    What a drab game...

So far the best game for tension has been England against France and Sweden's second half demolition of Bulgaria but if Portugal beat Greece, I believe that the Showdown between Spain and hosts Portugal will be a cracker. It will be so tense between these 2 great rivals, a truly mouth-watering affair...

With Portugal being on the edge of mainland Europe UK and Portugal are in the same time zone, so there is no difference.

I must admit if I had to watch the game at say 5 in the morning I would not have been too pleased with the Germany Holland game.

What is your interest in soccer, and how?
Germany vs. Holland was a very technical game on high class.
    Fighting, technical and tricky.
Germany - Holland and England - France were the best games at this tournament.

And this tournament is a high class tournament at every game played till yet.
Sweden vs Bulgary is a result what don't match the way of the game.

Atleast Sweden vs Bulgary took turn in chances the whole game, the same couldn't be said about the Germany-Holland snorefest.

Any Italian match usually ends up being a snorefest. Im looking forward to see how France does against a lower opponent and if Italia can bounce back after a dissmal effort against Denmark.

    My list from now:

Portugal vs Spain (wow what a match this will be)
Sweden vs Denmark (If Sweden looses the game against Italy and Denmark win over Bulgaria this will be one crazy match, alot of goals to)

Man come on, these games are real derbys and means so much.
