Who is the best GOALSCORER in the Serie A? Notice i said GOALSCORER, not neccessarily STRIKER, but GOALSCORER. Please do not base your opinion on NUMBER of goals scored, but the QUALITY of goals scored. In my opinion, Totti, Nedved, and Shevchenko are the best goalscorers. Close behind them are Trezeguet and Vieri.
For quality I'd definitley go with Totti. But Sheva is still the man in this department, because consistency is a hell of alot more important than quality.
Not exactly, Vieri and Shevchenko aren't too far apart when you consider that last season Sheva was injured it makes their stats very similar.
Looking at the stats its hard to argue against Vieri not being Serie A's best "goalscorer". But Jawz is right about Sheva. He played injured last year and Milan also played more to Pippo than Sheva last year. As a result Sheva only scored 5 goals in 24 matches. That hurts his average compared to Vieri. But Vieri also led La Liga in goals scored in his lone season in Madrid. He has proved it everywhere he went. So in summary I would have to say Vieri is a better "goalscorer". But Sheva is the better player. He and Signori have scored more goals than anybody currently in Serie A but I think we can all agree on current form they are not the best.
When you say GOALSCORER most people will assume, me included, you mean the person who scores the most goals. Do you mean the person who scores the BEST GOALS? If that's the case then it could be many players. Alvaro Recoba doesn't score as many goals as the above mentioned but the ones he does score are quality.
oh if it's for scoring the best goals... hmmm... sheva, totti, nedved, recoba, chivu, kaka, cruz... take your pick
Francesco Flachi This year has been the first time i have seen Francesco Flachi of Sampdoria. He's scored a bicycle, a scissors kick goal, he has scored some of the prettiest goals in serie A this season thus far. Totti has had some brilliant ones and i have seen some pretty good ones over the years from Del Piero. Quantity Vieri had 24 last year in just as many games as Shevchenko but i love them both, Inzaghi (pippo) is very underrated. Roberto Baggio has 198 in serie A in a career, thats amazing ( especially considering he's not an out and out striker since he does lots of passsing and creating as well. (as the Guinness guy says 'BRILLIANT')
Did you see that goal Totti scored last week when he ran from the half field mark, beating all the defenders, and then totally burning the keeper with a great shot into the opposite corner?! Amazing. Brilliant. World class. He also scored a diving header which was breathtaking in the same game. Totti made a run just outside the box and Mancini vollied it over to him. By that time Totti was at the 5 yard box and dove, connecting his head with the ball and shooting it across the goal into the net. I swear he must have been 6 inches away from the post. Absolutely breathtaking. He scores the most beautiful goals i have ever seen.

Totti's goals this year have been breathtaking. If Roma can win the scudetto and Italy the Euro, then he finally stop bitching about not winning the Golden Boot.
Ah, so some people still remember ol' Beppe Signori. He's one of my favorites even though he's past his prime. I was hoping he'd somehow manage to reach 200 before retiring but it's looking more and more doubtful.
Shevchenko is the combination of both the best GOALSCORER(may not the best, but close 2nd or 3rd) and the scorcer who scored the most goals. Totti is probably the best goalscorer.
