It's tough to make a list since most of us aren't old enough to have seen guys like cabinho.

I'll say this though, cruz azul chelito was the sickest league player I have seen. Dude was magic on the ball.

From what I remember that was not the case for guardiola. He was older but had moments of good quality. Just simply too old but he didn't pack it in like say tamudo

In cabinho's case all you have to do is look at the stats or summon @metalmaster he was old enough to remember the 70s.

I don't remember Camoranessi at Santos. He did well at Cruz Azul, but not at the level he plays in Italy.

Cabinho was a beast. Excellent finisher. Much better than Cardozo, imo.

If people are talking names they are forgetting probably the biggest of them all: Eusebio.

    Also Grzegorz Lato.

I know the LNBP permits a limited amount of players from the United States to join each squad, but I wonder just what exactly each futbol team is allowed. Does it vary by division?

The holy trinity are Cabinho, Miguel Marin, and Carlos Reinoso. It is a real shame Cabinho not got his shot with Brazil, considering they really did not have a true 9 on their side in both 78 and 82.

Cabinho was my introduction to soccer. He was incredible.

Alex Aguinaga, Cardozo, and Pony Ruiz are not far behind, but a rung below to be sure.

There are a ton of honorable mentions - I will mention a couple from my impressionable years: Tuca Ferreti, Patrulla Barbadillo, Ruso Brailovsky.

To be fair, Mexican football was inferior in those times to later on. Cardozo and Aguinaga shined in a time where the MFL was doing great in libertadores and the national team. Those 3 shined at a time when MFL teams couldn't beat the bench of south american champions teams and the Mexican team was the equivalent of Honduras on the world stage. Not to say they weren't great but people sometimes diminish the accomplishment of the Aguinagas and Cardozos.

Alex Aguinaga scored the greatest goal I have ever seen.

I don't think Chitiva or Medford belong in this list.
