Rob Cordry last night (July 14) interviewing a former congressman about the counter-Clinton library and breaking into song at the end. Anyone else?
A couple years ago they interviewed a guy who created "Gaydar". A device that allows gay people to know who is gay. They kept asking him if he was gay and he kept denying it even though he loved to dance and sing. Funny stuff. I think they might have actually had a follow up interview with the guy who later admitted he was indeed a queer.
about any time he interviews someone who covers washington and the best might have been the time he had ann coulter (sp?) on and she made herself look like a complete pyscho (entirely her own doing too)... she was so unintentionally funny that the audience and everyone i was watching with were rolling over in tears damn that was some great television
My favorite part of the show last night was the chart that showed hetersexual parents greater than single parents who are still greater than homosexual parents who are equal to a man screwing a turtle. I need to find a pic of that. It would make a great avatar. I also had the following as wallpaper for some time:
How would France beat England at war? Why would it be an England army instead of a UK army? How would the USA beat the UK at war? Why is the UK the best place in the world? Because it is.
Reminds me of her days being made out to look like a total psychotic bitch on Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect. I'll have to search the website for the quoted interview.
Why must it be that my house has cable, but it totally bachelor-ed out...and my girlfriends house has like four channels, but is like a castle??
Kermit the Frog came on once, and seriously, that topping that would be like following Bob Dylan. cheers
Has to be the Jenniver Love Hewitt interview where he pretty much called her a whore, and told her that "Garfield" (the movie she was hawking) was going to suck. He was so unbelievable mean, it was great. I also have a soft spot for Steven Colbert coming out as Al Sharpton, and pretending to be the Reverend for a good 10 minutes.
Another great one recently was when Rob Courdry was interviewing a child development expert who consulted to parents who wanted to get their kids into elite pre-schools. He kept asking what he should be doing for his child at each stage of development to help the kid's chance of getting in. He was working backwards from age 4 to age 2 to new born and then to fetus. After the lady explained that in utero, the parents could be playing classical music for the fetus, Rob asked, "Well, how about even before then? Should I masturbate to Baby Einstein videos?" I almost smashed my head open falling off the couch laughing as the lady's eyes bugged out of her head. Murf
You may be able to get it from here: http://www.geocities.com/billreeves/dailyshow_turtle.html geocities doesn't let us link directly to images so I can't show it here, but damn, it's a good picture.
are we forgetting clint mathis? i'm sure there was a line involving plum smuggling as well, quality stuff.
Sounds like this Conan interview a few years ago. He had on Norm McDonald, then some actress that did a movie with Carrot Top came out. Conan asked her what the name of the movie was and McDonald cut in: "I've got a name for it--BOX OFFICE POISON!" The audience started cracking up, and Conan couldn't keep from laughing right in front of her. Sad, but so true. Just about the only thing that I prefer from the Craig Kilborn era Daily Show is "5 Questions." It would be perfect for the show still, but I guess that it was his "intellectual property."
I enjoyed "5 Questions" as well, but it's really made for Kilborn and no one else. I did like how Stewart phased it out, eliminating one question at a time.
Ah, really? I had no idea that Stewart did it for a while. It took me a while to start watching when he took over, because I didn't like him all that much before. When Sacha Baron Cohen, the guy that does Ali G, was on last week, he told a pretty disturbing story about James Lipton--the Inside the Actors Studio guy. Apparently after Cohen did the show, Lipton invited him into his office and he showed Cohen a picture of a topless Asian woman and the way he was talking about things was making Cohen uncomfortable. Then the woman from the picture walked into the office and Lipton introduced her as his wife. The audience was stunned and Jon Stewart's jaw dropped, just about the same reaction that I had. Ick.
Actually, I can't remember now who did the phasing out, Jon or Craig, but they definitely did cut questions one at a time. "Five Questions" became "Four Questions" and so on until it was "One Question" I missed that one. And I'm surprised because Cohen doesn't give too many interviews out of character. And yeah, that's creepy, but Lipton is a strange cat.
I don't think 5 questions would work when you have a Henry Kissinger-type on. Its a different show now...funny in a relevant way. I mean unless he saved the President, married Lindsay Lohan and discovered a cure for cancer, I don't see Kilborn on the cover of Newsweek.
The guy who does Ali G was on Inside the Actors Studio?? I know they're a little less stringent these days...but is there something about this guy's career that I don't know??
I believe the name of the movie was "Chairman of the Board". When the woman says the name of it, Conan makes some remark to Norm McDonald to try to smooth over the situation. Norm immediately replies, "I'm guessing it was spelled B-O-R-E-D!"
My boss just asked me why I was laughing out loud when he walked by. I remember watching this because I knew Norm was going to be on. I fell out my chair laughing when he said B-O-R-E-D. Was the lady Courtney Thorne-Smith of Melrose Place and Ally McBeal fame?
Cohen has been doing a bunch of straight interviews to hawk the new season. He is trying to seperate the characters from himself. He was on Daily Show and Letterman as himself. But as said above doing some of the character bits. He was on Conan last week as Borad (?).
