I need this info for a soccer game I am playing (need to edit the retarded USA roster in Pro Evolution Soccer).

Who are the BEST 23 for the USA right NOW?

Not in 2006, not in 2002 WC, but now, post- WC.

Thanks in advance...Players I am pretty sure would be in it already:

    O'Brien
    Reyna
    Donovan
    Pope
    Beasley
    Mathis
    Sanneh
    Wolf
    Bocanegra
    Howard (?)
    Mastroeni
    Twellman (?)

    Who else?

if you mean right now, you still need Friedel and Keller both as keepers.

How could you forget Keller and Friedel.

Keller, Freidel, Howard, Brown, Boca, Berhalter, Pope, Sanneh, Cherundolo, Reyna, O'Brien, Mastroeni, Lewis, Beasley, Donovan, Wolff, Mathis, McBride

Those are all guys I would say need to be on any roster for any big game right now. Up and Comers that we need to see get some significant time with the Nats:

Twellmen, Vagenas, Suarez, Petke, Rimando, Quaranta, Cunningham, Buddle, Jolley, Califf, Garcia, Prideaux, Mulrooney, Olsen, (More of)Razov, Ralston

Just my opinion, these guys should get the call for some games coming up.

I'd throw in Convey and Oguchi Onyewu in there too. Any experience will definately help!

No need for a question mark here. I would leave off Wolff.
No doubt JOB will be the leader of this future team.
No Armas? Is he done? Pablo has stepped in.

Now I know what I am about to ask as a follow up is asking a lot, but maybe someone can point me in the right direction...

For all the players who have been on the national team already (especially in the last 12 months), I know their strengths and weaknesses.

Problem is, for the players not in the game, I need to create the stats. I am pretty good an being fair (as in not making us too awesome), but some of these players I know nothing about...

Is there a SITE that perhaps describes the players? Speed, finishing, heading, ball skill, passing, etc. Probably not, right?

A lot of the MLS guys I do not know too much about:

Twellman (good finisher - how is his speed/heading?)
    Vagenas
    Suarez
    Cunningham
    Buddle
    Califf
    Mulrooney
    Olsen
    Ralston
    Convey
    Onyewu

Hopefully someone knows some sources :)...

who is Nick Garcia why is he better than Berhalter. Explain how Martino is a better Right Midfielder/Withdrawn Forward than Stewart, while Convey is probably more talented than Lewis i would much rather have the experienced Eddie Lewis coming off the bench (he is the best crosser on the national team, see Mexico game)Cunningham is not that good (sorry I've seen him a few times, an acceptable MLS forward but out of his depth at the international level) while McBride is our #1 Target forward. Remember the original post asked for the top 23 RIGHT NOW. Convey, Martino, and I assume Garcia represent the future

To answer your question, Nick Garcia is a defender for the Wizards, and played at Indiana. He's a good defender, but you're right he is probably future not at the moment.

Not saying those original guys can't do the job, but I belive in slowly bringing in (mixing in) some new commers and see how they respond. You have listed 23 players and all honesty I don't think Berhalter,Stewart,Lewis or McBride should be starters, so might as well give someone else a chance to experience the Nat team. It would be foolish to bring in 23 new players or even 10 for that matter with no international experience. Bring them in slowly is the answer. Would you put in Lalas .. just because he had a few good games in MLS?

Cunningham isn't even the best striker on his team! And he's on the same team with McBride...it's amazing to me that you would use a guy that did squat in qualifiers, camps, and friendlies to relpace a proven international goal scorer that pairs brilliantly with Donovan and Wollf just 90 days later. You are a super manager, my friend.

To be honest, 3 months after the 2002 cup, I don't think we've had our 2002 team players get that much worse, or any other players get that much better. Certainly there are players more talented that our friend Cobi Jones - but if we had to put the very best TEAM out on the field today, how could you not put him and the successful players that just played the Cup for us 90 days ago?

All we're really talking about then is who, in hindsight of that Cup and the rest of the MLS season, who would get replaced from that team.

So, if I *HAD* to win a game right now, take our 2002 WC team and remove these players:

Meola, Regis, Agoos, JMM, Mathis (he's in Time Out and doesn't make my team again until next year.)

    Add:

Tim Howard, Alexi Lalas, Bocanegra, Chris Armas, Twellman.

That would be my team until the end of this year, if we're not thinking about developing anyone, or looking at the future ; just the best TEAM to get us WINS that we have. I'm sure many would laugh at keeping Cobi and bringing Lalas back, but you name two role players better than these two that have any sort of track record at performing at that level, and doing what would be asked of them. I think everyone probably agrees that Lalas could easily have out-performed Agoos in J/K.

Now, my team for a realistic question like, 'if qualifiers for 2006 started today and you had 3 years to get a team ready, who would you play?'
    - would be totally different.

    :))

What sort of key is used to rate players such as a 1-10 or a 40-99? These are common on some games I have. And I too periodically have to completely redo everything because my games is a couple years old.

    12-19

So in a sense, its 1-8.

    6-8 is considered really good.
