Got a question for you's all: Over the past 5 years (or 10 if you're up to it), what was the best Chelsea Derby?
Well the highest home crowd for a Chelsea Derby was in 1935 against Arsenal. Some 82,905 fans in attendance. Woah!
In the last few years one of the most enjoyable was 13th March 2002 Chelsea 4 Spurs 0. This is my favourite for a number of reasons. It was against Spurs. It was the 2nd time in a week we had beaten Spurs 4-0 Jimmy scored the perfect Hat trick, Right foot , left foot, header, all of them great goals. It was against Spurs. Oh yes and it was against Spurs. I am an old traditionalist, in my youth Spurs were the enemy.
Seems the dislike of them from the Lane is speading. Mind you its hardly supprising given such inspired, well observed genious such as this https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=145565
That was a great match, I was still living in Dublin and about two inches shorter. Jimmy Floyd was a hero to me growing because of performances like that...
Maybe it's me but I've always been taught to hate Spurs more than anyone else. Atleast that's the way I was raised by my Pop. So I don't know what you mean by "dislike of them from the Lane is spreading"? If I really want to get him started now, I just tell him Arsenal is our biggest rival. He goes nuts. It's hilarious.
