    Hi everyone,

Long story short, a friend and I are coming to America from Australia for a month long MLS/MLB/drinking tour. We're going to be in Houston on July 7 when the Dynamo are away to KC. Can you tell me which is the best bar to watch this game with Dynamo fans, and if you think it's worth going to? Would love to watch a game with Dynamo fans while we're in Houston. We're staying downtown near Minute Maid Park, I think on Fannin Street, so hoping the best option is somewhere easy to get to from there!

    Thanks in advance!

Plenty of bars to catch a game at I can't say which is best because I haven't been to every one YET. But you can find them all here. I quite enjoy Bar Munich but I really enjoy German beer so.....take that with a grain of bratwurst.:D

The Orange Bar usually is full of Dynamo supporters and fans. Good beer and great Mexican food next door as well.

If TA is holding a watch party, then Orange Bar is the place you want to go.

Richmond Arms is a bit of drive but is a nice soccer pub but they are English elitists-so go in there and announce that you are an Aussie and demand to watch MLS, the Dynamo specifically-and report back here as to what happens. I am really curious.

I'm still trying to find a bar close to The Woodlands, but "Bikini's" just opened on the South side of The Woodlands, hopefully they'll show the games.

Thanks heaps guys, is it easy to get public transport to Orange Bar on a Saturday evening from where we are downtown near Minute Maid Park/Fannin Street, or will we have to get a cab? Is there much in the way of nightlife near Orange Bar?

You really are a whiny little girl about that still.
I have 6 or 7 of those "English elitists" going with me to the game today, and a few others that were upset that I didn't get enough extra tickets. Guess what, they watch the Dynamo religiously at the Arms, but they don't allow whiners. Maybe that's why you get the stink eye when you get near there...

You bitching about something that is 6 years old is as bad as the brats bitching about the 1836/Dynamo thing.

By Jily 7th there will be Dynamo crowd for games at Lucky's Pub, which is right next to the stadium and walking distance from your hotel. It won't be hundreds of fans, but it's the easiest and cheapest way to watch the game with probably a dozen or two fans.

When I cheer for Tim Howard and hear "Damn Yank"-you're a f#$%ing English elitist. In the same way people can vote for who they want to and WC can say what I want to, so can I.

Besides it was more of joke-jesus, chill out man.

When you keep talking crap about a place then I won't chill. Tim Howard has his damned picture on the wall there, he has family that comes there to watch games, again, they don't hate Yanks, they hate whiners. If they keep calling you out it AIN'T because you're a Yank...

You are going to want to take a cab to Orange Bar. It's a short drive from downtown. Cab will be less than $10. After the game you should probably head to midtown if you are looking for some nightlife. There are some good bars close to Orange Bar but it's a more laid back scene than what you are probably looking for. Midtown is on the way back to your hotel from Orange Bar.

Went to Lucky's a little while on Sat. Pretty cool place with an enormous beer selection.
Anyone been to the other bar around the corner? Lil Woodrows?

Lucky's has a huge beer selection, awesome food, and some really good specials. They can also get CRAZY packed at times. Lil' Woodrow's across the street is a bit more laid back, no food, and has always served me well as a Lucky's overflow bar. I attempted to go to Lucky's this year for St. Patty's day, wound up at Lil' Woodrow's, ran into a bunch of Dynamo friends and had an awesome time. Both can be a great place for a few drinks before heading to catch live bands performing next door at Warehouse Live.

Speaking of which, on the 26th right after the L.A. game Down a band started by Phil Anselmo of Pantera fame is playing at Warehouse Live. That day is going to be a mother********ing insanity!

    PS

    Comicpalooza is that weekend also!
