Jawz, The hype that this Montolivo kid is getting at such a young age reminds a bit of the hype Totti, Del Piero and Baggio received. I unfortunately have not seen much of him other than a few highlights, does anyone know more of this kid, is he the superstar in the making or what? Maybe Sue or one of our insiders would know best?

Check out what I wrote here about him during the Palermo vs Fiorentina match. He's still got a lot of learning to do, but what he has can't be taught, which is superb technique.

I don't like Camoranesi, there, I said it. He holds the ball too long, and lately has decided to start kicking his opponents.

Montolivo and Amelia are young starlets who in the future will likely be on the full squad. I figure unless the entire team gets the flu this summer they may as well take some youngsters just for the experience ala Ronaldo in WC94 and Kaka in WC 2002.

Flachi is a sentimental choice, I just always felt he was a fantastic striker who never got a lot of praise.

If you watched Roma's last few game you would know Perrotta fully derserve a spot on the NT.

You are a Roma fan right?

jawz i kind of agree with you about camoranesi, id rather have ambrosini in his place (if he can get healthy and on form). dont get me wrong though i like camoranesi but i dont like him in a 4-3-1-2 IMO thats a weakness in the midfield (defensively) it leaves pretty much gattuso as the only DM. If you play ambrosini instead then you can have zambrotta charging up the right wing but with camoranesi he cant (can but i doubt he will consistently)

IMO camoranesi is best suited in a midfield like the one at juve where he plays out wide and doesnt have much defensive duties.

edit: btw i like the pirlo, camoranesi, gattuso and totti midfield its just it worries me how it will do against a great offensive team. but hey if camoranesi plays a good enough defensive role then we will be fine!!!!!

did you forget about Pirlo as your Defensive mid?

    My 23-
    Buffon
    Zambrotta
    Grosso
    Barzagli
    Cannavaro
    Nesta
    Diana
    Gattuso

    Totti
    Gilardino
    Peruzzi
    Perrotta
    Fiore
    Oddo
    Pirlo
    Liverani
    Cassano
    Di Michele
    Camoranesi
    Flachi
    Abbiati
    Del Piero

    (bye-bye Vieri)

    My formation

pirlo is a deep lying playmaker. not a DM. im a huge fan of pirlo but lets be honest hes not that good defensively

i guess he's nothing special when it comes to defending but when he recieves that ball, he sends the perfect ball throught the opposing defence catching them flat footed as they dont expect it, and Italy will be off. I stillwouldnt move him out of DM

i would neverr move pirlo from his position. IMO hes more important than totti is to our midfield. my number 1 team is

    -------------------buffon
    --zambrotta----nesta---cannavaro----grosso
    --------------------pirlo
    --------camoranesi--------gattuso
    -------------------totti
    ---------------toni------cassano

i know it seems like im contradicting my self but im not :D i like camo as long as he plays defense because like i said you need a box to box player in this formation and i hope camo can be that man.
