Same def don’t watch it but from what I’ve followed online he’s become a key piece to their team in what is a solid league. Next year will be interesting to see where he ends up on loan but hopefully a low level German team. He’s got the tools and would work in The System. He’s far more likely to be ready for the jump before Richards. Young CBs are usually brought along slowly.
I have yet to see him play any pro games live. The loan is set to end at the end of the month. I wonder where he will be headed.?.?
4-3-3 GK- Steffen LB- Robinson CB- Long CB- Brooks RB- Cannon CDM- Dest LCM- McKennie RCM- Adams LW- Pulisic CF- Sargent RW- Reyna More defensively sound but also an attacking side; switched things up...Dest instead of him playing on the left or playing on the right you have him in the midfield in a wing back type role as a CDM...much like a Kimmich type in that regard Cannon then can be switched over to RB McKennie and Adams playing in front of or even alongside Dest...quite the defensive anchor out in midfield Then you have your 3 attacking players in Gio, Pulisic and Sargent Pretty effective
Against powerhouse, RB Salzburg, EPB was also Sofascore MOTM with a score of 7.7. Haaland had already peaced out to Dortmund, but RB were still a good team.
The comments in the Wien forum (linked in EPB's YA thread) were that he was good in the last game, against Admira. But the tone was somewhat surprised, as in "today he was actually good." And before that, you seldom find any mention of him.
Watched Dortmund Paederwhatever. For me, Reyna is on hold for Best 11 status. I gotta believe he'll get there. Maybe soon. 17 y.o. and getting minutes at a realllly big club. But, yesterday, he was basically a linker. I haven't seen enough of him to pencil him into best 11. (even though I did, based on rep, above). I'm not posting this as any kind of criticism. I'm kind of in awe of what he's accomplished. My other observation. He's really big. He looks like a 9. But, then Jozy looked like a 9 and ignorant managers who went on looks alone derailed his career. So, we'll see. But, the kid is really big and he's only 17. He could be a beast.
Hypothetically, keeping the bulk down to convert to the wing would've been ideal. But realistically, Jozy was always going to be a 9. He was just neither the back-to-goal battering ram nor the lone striker type that most of his coaches had wanted him to play. Reyna looks to have more tactical and positional flexibility. He wouldn't be a starter if a competitive match were scheduled for tomorrow. But he should be good for next year when international football will likely start again.
It’s worth noting that this was his worst game I’ve seen in a Dortmund uniform. Really the first time I haven’t seen him do something special that impresses. Just sort of ho hum today.
Who replaces Reyna in your lineup? Did you see his golazo in the cup game against werder? What other American can do that?
Until watching Reyna today, I didn't truly realize that square passing was hereditary. His father was a very good player. And he could be better. But he needs to be more aggressive.
Yeah he does but he is well on his way to being just as good as his dad and he is still young but as soon as he gets older, the more better and better he will get
All this good discussion gets me depressed about GB being in charge. All those good players forcing passes out of the back last year, against their better instincts, reminded me of a hostage video.
My bet is that his father would agree with you but I think he still has a ways to go before it is true.
