So Bert is gone. Well done to him.

Who would we like as next manager?

Louis? Guus (again?)? Dicky? Co? Or go foreign for a change? Jogy? (lol) Fab Fabio?

    Who's out of work?

    Ruud? (god forbid)

Foppe? Hmm now there's a thought...

Koeman won't do it. So I say Gert-Jan Verbeek please. This squad needs a good kick up the backside and he's the man for it.

This is the Dutch national team OranjeBal. We'll never get a foreign coach.

I posted that this was my choice some days ago. The bigger question is with these tough to qualifiers coming up and the "dissension" who would want the job???

I can't believe people are seriously suggesting Foppe. Not even considering that he's an OAP, he's good with kids and that's about it.

If it's not Koeman, then I think they'll try Rijkaard.

    I'm hoping for Hiddink

If Cruyff had bollix he'd do it. We all know he doesn't when push comes to shove though. The Cruyff corporation is far too concerned about protecting his brand image.

I'd like Rijkaard. He was pretty good the first time round ihmo.

I'd really like Cruijff, but that just will not happen. Married the wrong wife sadly-- from a national football perspective, at least. ;)

Gullit would be an absolute disaster! We'd never get to Brazil... Marco, let him try Heerenveen for a while that will help national football too!

About the foreigner...and people suggesting we'd never go foreign... check history.
Let's get Pep! Whahaha that would be something... And expensive but who cares! It's Crisis!

Most likely it will be van Gaal, I think. He wants it... and he is available. Could be good, this time...

van Gaal would take any job that was offered to him right now. But the real question is if the players would accept him. I have my serious doubts. He isn't really a well liked person anywhere these days. First he gets a job with Ajax, but then gets forced out because 1) it wasn't legal, and 2) everyone there hates him. Then PSV wants him, but that doesn't happen because van Bommel wouldn't sign if they got him.

BTW, Aron Winter is available :D;)

Aad de Mos in VI Oranje today suggested this formation:

    ----------------Huntelaar
    --Van Persie-------------------Narsingh
    -----------Strootman---Sneijder
    -------------------Anita
    Pieters--De Vrij--Gouweleeuw-Van Rhijn
    ----------------Stekelenburg

He's got the right idea in my opinion, so maybe him. I don't think anyone in the group would care for Van Gaal.

Frank is coaching Saudi Arabia, Cocu has a contract with PSV, Rutten is apparently the favourite for the Vitesse job and Jol is at Fulham.

    So Adriaanse it is!

    J/k.. :p

I like Aad de Mos, but he doesn't rate Douglas and Nuytinck apparently and we need those kind of defenders. Verbeek or perhaps Gullit for me. Gullit says a lot of sensible things, but can he walk the walk?

Yeah, he was the coach of Toronto FC (TFC), my hometown club. It was more that he had trouble adapting the Dutch system to the crap players he had at his disposal. He also had zero support from the upper management and he was forced to work with an English guy (who took over his job and now has the team playing the shittiest form of football you've ever seen) who was in charge of signing players for him.
I was kind of joking when I suggested him, but I don't think his future as a manager should be judged on how he performed at a club that was a shit show when he got there, and didn't get the support that he needed to do anything

Gullit has been a disaster at every club he has managed but he's a great television commentator and should stay in that position. Rijkaard is likely out of a job as I believe Saudi Arabia is out now but he's had a mixed record. Adriannse was a disaster at Twente this year and he hasn't stayed anywhere long enough to make me want him. Rutten has been decent in the two Dutch clubs he managed and certainly knows the young Dutch players well but is the NT too big a step up? Jol is a good mid-table EPL manager and nothing more. He was bad at Ajax.

I don't remember the exact formation, but it was more like 433 (4321/xmas tree) than 451 (4231). Don't really remember all the names either, but he had KJH, RVP, Narsingh, Anita, Strootman, Gouweleeuw, de Vrij and van Rhijn.
