Messi can be his mentor. He has the same stature as him. Could be a good thing.

He probably only has one more season at Monaco. No way they don't cash in.

He won't get any playing time at barca any time soon that would be a dumb move for him.

Bernardo helps introduce Ivan Cavaleiro (SLB B and Portugal U21) to Monaco.

I haven't been this excited for a young Portuguese player since Ronaldo. There's something very different and special about this kid.

Bernardo has not played any pre season games as he played the Euro U21 final and also had a muscular tear, so he was given an extra week off.

He is in the squad for today's second leg against Young Boys in the CL qualifying rounds (Monaco won 3-1 last week away) and should get some minutes although I guess he won't start.

Monaco won 4-0 and Bernardo was not used off the bench.

    Started where he left off.

Scored in Monaco's 2-1 win coming on in the 25th minute, not due to injury, but due to tactical change.

Yes came on for Pasalic (loan from Chelsea) at 25 minutes after Germain (who Monaco has loaned to Nice) scored.
Bernardo missed a good chance and then buried his second chance to even the score (Kurzawa scored the second for a 2-1 Monaco away win in the derby).

As usual will wait for the official Ligue 1 highlights before posting.

Btw El Shaarawy looks good (loan from AC Milan) and Cavaleiro had a decent game.

If Ivan keeps performing could be immense for us, We can start with a similar top 3 forwards like at this years u21.

    Ronaldo - Ivan
    Bernardo

    Immense

Only Fatima can make this happen :inlove:

Shame Santos is to incompetent to ever make this happen :devilish:

Not at all religious but found this in the Monaco (French language forum). Which has links to the thread title (JJ's infamous quip) and the whole Bernardo vs Jorge Jesus thing (mostly fought by proxies) which the guy who posted it (Monaco forum) I suspect knows nothing about.

Did not notice that this year he is wearing the No. 10 shirt...(last year it was 15).

'Está a usar a 10? Deve ser em homenagem ao número de vezes que tinha de nascer...'

Bernardo has signed a contract extension with Monaco until 2020. But doubt he will be there more than this or next season.

Vou dar o meu máximo esta época para ajudar a equipa a ser o mais competitiva possível e alcançar os seus objetivos' Bernardo.

Monaco vs Lille in the second league game was rather uneventful with Lille the better side.
The most important action was Moutinho getting injured and is confirmed out for 4-6 weeks (probably missing the two Portugal games) and Kurzawa went off injured not sure if it is serious.
Maybe it was the shadow of the CL qualifying game against Valencia this Wednesday 19 August at 19;45.

Could not get the usual highlights so these will have to do.

Other than kicking a ball on post, he was a bit invisible throughout the game. At times he seemed too far back partly due to Valencia being more effective in center midfield. Ivan Cavaleiro had the same fate too.

To be honest the guys that came for them did worse. Jardim should of realized that his tactical plan was at fault, not the players.

Anthony Martial is one hell of a player though.

On the other side the center back Rúben Vezo played well.

Ok, I have had to deal with many things lately both professionally, personally and academically so have not seen much of Bernardo lately.

Saw some of the Valencia games and in the second leg he looked ok but needed Moutinho as he was playing too deep and trying to do both the Bernardo and Moutinho job, that said it has been a bit of a lull but he did hit the bar against Valencia (I think) in the first leg (from the keepers hand, I think).

Monaco vs PSG this Sunday with the addition of Coentrão and Lopes that makes it a host of Portuguese talent: Bernardo, Carvalho, Moutinho, Cavaleiro, Lopes, Coentrã0 and Hélder Costa under Jardim, looks interesting!

The lopes signing seems strange to me, I have a very strong feeling either Moutinho or Bernardo will leave Monaco before the end of this transfer window, I havr a feeling Rony is a replacement rather than an auxiliary player
