All Schalke, all the time so far.

Da Silva with two clearances off the line so far for Cottbus.

    HT, 1-0.

Agali taken down by Cottbus keeper Lenz, Bohme puts away the PK.

Berhalter looks like the one who got beat and resulted a PK. He looks very slow.

    2-0, Sand.

Nicely taken goal, not much Berhalter could have done stuck between Sand taking a run, and Varela, who fed him.

3-0. Terrible pull down by a Cottbus defender, Bohme puts it away on the second chance after Lenz makes the first stop.

if it not mistaken it was GB who pulled the player down on the second PK

It wasn't Berhalter on the second PK; it was Vagner. For those who didn't see it, it was a shirt pull (I think on Varela) off of a free kick. A ticky-tack, but correct call, especially since the free kick was intended to be a little chip to Varela and Vagner's shirt pull impeded Varela. Varela flopped to make sure he got the call but, as I said, such a blatant shirt pull in the box deserved a PK, so I have a hard time getting too worked up by the exaggeration. Berhalter had nothing to do with it. On the Agali take-down (the first PK), I didn't think Berhalter was closest to the ball, but I didn't see enough to absolve him of any fault. And on the second goal, Berhalter was the "last" guy back, but as was said earlier, nothing he could have done.

It was Berhalter. The ball was played to the right of Berhalter as he "raced" towards his own goal. The Schalke player came from his left and still beat him to the ball, resulting in the keeper taking him down for a PK.

I disagree...it was the bad giveaway in midfield followed by an poorly timed slide-tackle which started the counter and eventually resulted in the PK...also, Lenz could have called Berhalter off before he came off of his line that could explain Greg's lackadaisical effort inside the box..

Berhalter clearly did not play well - although to be fair Cottbus's midfield and attacking players were nowhere to be found most of the game.

I can't say whether or not Berhalter is meant by that, but there has been some criticism by Coach Eduard Geyer in the last days. I translate it without any purpose to blame Berhalter, just to let you know what's going on at the moment:

For Eduard Geyer the scape goats were clear. "The bad thing is that you are pointing on everything before the game. And then you got such night watchmen on the pitch, who don't listen. That way we don't belong to Bundesliga", cursed the Coach of Energie Cottbus after the 0:3 at FC Schalke 04.

"In our emergency situation you need players who sacrifice themselves for the club. But I got the impression that many just think about leaving", continued Geyer.

GM Klaus Stabach criticised the "team without heart" similarly: "This was not more than D3 level."

Goalie Andre Lenz was totally frustrated. No wonder after 17 goals against in the last six games that all got lost. "After such a game you have no hope on a rescue."
