my feelings aren't hurt by him saying he still thinks he is the guy

im also not bothered by turner and gio saying he is still the guy after all he is the one guy that runs those guys out as lock first choice players. their clubs think they are backups at best.

The parallels to our president are disturbing.

Agreed… Attacking our current president is not something that is appropriate for this board.

I mean what do you expect Berhalter to say.

Whether he is or isn’t the right coach isn’t a decision for him to make.

If he had any real class his speech would have had exactly two words "I resign."

Biden is senile, while Berhalter is simply incompetent.

It absolutely it can be his decision. I mean he could have some self respect and resign. His team got grouped by Panama and Bolivia. It was the first time in Copa America history the host nation has failed to advance from the groups.

True... but I suspect that Gregg has 2.2 million reasons per year to motivate him not to resign.

At the same time, how dumb was US soccer to not put in some release clause if he failed during the Copa America? Or showed other signs of not being the right coach?

    Yeah, well...

In the almost five years between the passing of my first wife and the marrying of my second, I frequently insisted that I would be the perfect boyfriend for Scarlett Johansson, so there's that.

literally the only thing grreggg has ever cared about in his role as usmnt coach is continuing to collect those fat checks for as long as possible

i suspect he has some serious mental disorders with the way he gaslights and deflects and plays PR

They should just give him a gift card to Brooks Brothers and tell him, "THAT's what you're getting. Now be gone."

The sensible thing would have been to sign him through the Copa. USSF had had all the leverage. It's not like anyone had beating a path to his door.

Fortunately Gregg will have plenty of rent free housing options even though he’s out of a job.

    Its because we're USMNT fans.
If Berhalter is the guy in the job, then we root for him to succeed wildly while he's the coach.
And we would have kept rooting for him.
If Pochettino is now the coach then we root for him to succeed.

We have ZERO control over who the USSF hires or doesn't hire.

Others rooted for Berhalter to fail, and thus for the USMNT to fail, just so they could dance on his grave like 11 year olds.

    nah.

he showed he wasnt up to the job for YEARS while not getting fired

fans pushed berhalter out...so youre dead wrong that fans have zero control

we didnt root for him to fail in order to dance on his grave...we rooted for him to be fired so the team could catually maybe achieve its goals

So what if a certain German is coach?

Wow! I dont view them as 11 year olds but heros. Failing in the Copa has turned out to be one of the best things to ever happen to the USMNT. Now that I think about it, i think you are a horrible USMNT fan for all the gaslighting you've done over the years. Don't think you won't hear about it if coaching turns out to actually matter.

i would love to hear berhalters take on how he compares himself to pochettino as a coach lol

does he think he is his equal?

would be hilarious to hear him answer that...and also to know what he privately thinks about that question

especially since he was a stage 9 clinger to the usmnt manager job
