I don't know much about rap music so maybe someone can explain this feud. Is it real or staged ? Whats the deal
He must be dope. Look at that pose. He's the dopiest. He might be the freshest and phattest aritst outta Boston since Jordan Knight!
Benzino is using all this as a gimmick to become popular. He's violating an unspoken rule in hiphop that you work your way up to a battle with someone well known to be good in battles. Eminem may be yet another person settling for less than his talent dictates, but Benzino has a lot of rungs to climb before he could call him out. The whole thing is crap, basically. Ignore it.
I think Benzino is part owner of The Source, one of the biggest hip hop magazines. To me it reeks of a publicity ploy to increase the return on his investment.
That fella is a playa and he's phat and, uh, tight too, check out the doo man thats tight and phat as well. Boo yeah. Actually what is that on his jacket? What is he, in a fishing gang? The bass-mastas? Man thats, uh, dope. Like yo.
He's part of the Made Men, who once were called the Almighty RSO. They've been part of the Boston rap scene forever it seems. The Made men definately have gang associations here in Boston. While they deny it publically, people I've spoken to who were there when Paul Pierce was stabbed two years ago, say it was their crew that did it. That being said this whole feud with Eminem definately has publicity stunt written all if for The Source.
I had never heard of Benzino until his album was featured in the Onion's "Least Essential Albums of 2002": http://avclub.theonion.com/avclub3847/avfeature_3847.html LEAST ESSENTIAL NEW REMIX ALBUM THAT'S NEITHER NEW NOR A REMIX ALBUM Benzino The Benzino Remix Project (Buy It!) When is a new remix album neither new nor a remix album? When it's Benzino's The Benzino Remix Project. Benzino co-owns the hip-hop magazine The Source, a fact he kept hidden for many years, although it could be inferred from the fawning coverage the magazine gave never-was Benzino and his group Made Men. In 2001, Benzino used his connections to corral Pink, P. Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Bobby Brown, Fabolous, and many other once and future Source cover stories into appearing on his solo debut, The Benzino Project. The album tanked for Motown in 2001, but, ever the optimist, Benzino had it reissued independently a year later as The Benzino Remix Project, even though it contains only three remixes. In other words, it's a new low.
